  • I like how this starts. Verse 1 sets things up nicely.

    When it gets to:

Have you been sleeping have you been awake

Is this the first or the last mistake

those lines felt a bit weaker - filling rather …

  • I think the intro is a little long, and that's likely Suno rather than your choice. But the style and vibe seem a good match to the lyric.

It feels a little odd that someone would be thinking this man is their prophet, when he's clearly ant…

  • Ok, I see that now. It's there when you know what to look for. Some people (like me) may not get it on first listen, but it could be one that unfolds after a few plays, and that's no bad thing. Others will latch on to it right away.

  • I remember "Angel of the Morning" but wasn't aware of Chip Taylor.

I feel like I'm of an age now where the people passing are of my era rather than ahead of me!!

  • I don't get this one. Is it a relationship song? It is introspective? I don't understand the message.

And it seems to be a lyric driven, meaningful song rather than a dance track or an atmospheric track.

  • Good song, especially the chorus.

    Popular message for the audience!

In the post chorus I'd probably switch "But they ain’t wrong that often" to "But they ain’t often wrong"

    Nice.

  • Good job on this Kayla! This feels like a song. It's got emotion and a theme.

And it's got enough structure that I can imagine it set to music too.

The strongest part (to me) is the verse that goes:

  • It sure sounds like a trip!

I like the musical style of this one. Raw and rugged. You sure cover some territory!

  • It's cool that you can try out all these versions.

I think the mar 19 one is my favorite.

  • It's a lovely song. The guitar tone is so real on this.

The whole thing has a wistful feeling which seems very appropriate to the theme.

Love how "blow over" and "I’m colder" is sung in the chorus!

    I like "edgewise", not someth…

  • Suno can do an amazing version of your song and give you a very polished sound, well beyond what an average Joe like me can create. I do find it's better to write the music yourself first, then get an AI to cover it, rather than let it create any…

  • Good sound. Like the bass on it, and the extra vocals. Good atmosphere.

If you'd like comments on the lyric, please post those here on TSF.

  • Tough subject to write about! I think you've done well not to minimize it, but without making it too depressing either.

The doubled vocals make things feel a little muddy to me in the recording (not talking about the harmony). It's obviousl…

  • Guys, seriously take a moment. This is getting way out of hand.

Respect towards each other is far more important than giving/receiving feedback on a song.

    I'm shutting this one down.

  • I think you've tightened this up, lost the more neutral phrases to make everything sharp.

I particularly like "I want to believe you but I don’t...." in the new v1

On this one I'd use part of each version you have to make: "Took every…

  • Thought I'd come back to this one now that Suno et al can do covers. Sid was ok with me posting this new version:

  • It's definitely got something. Kept me listening!

  • I like the sound of this one. That chorus is really easy to sing along with.

The lyric feels a bit paranoid! Or is that me being part of the establishment trying to hose down your fears?

Either way I enjoyed it! 😀

  • Oh cool, I like that better with the rhymes on 1&3!

Good on you for being open to change. 😁

  • Overall I think it's got legs.

Good strong rhythm, and the lyric fits the cadence. Hangs together.

I like your "I ain't afraid of sharks" line, we get to interpret that as the verse unfolds.

Not sure about "If I sign that deal"…

  • I think this holds up well. The fairytale theme gives it a consistent feeling throughout.

"We were young and chasing forever" yes, that's a lovely line.

I'm not keen on the cinderella / fella rhyme. It felt a bit forced. Maybe you cou…

  • Some lovely lines in this one.

They don’t need masks, they wear a tie

Clean white shirts and a polished lie

that's a great way to start!

It’s billable hours dressed up as right

  • The music feels very warm, as does most of the lyric

but "foolish heart" seems at odds with the rest. There's nothing in the rest of the lyric that suggests she is being foolish. I wonder if "open heart" or something like that would be more…

  • Trust your instincts! There's no right or wrong, only what feels right to you. It's your song!

  • Love the funky groove. Bass is like a heartbeat.

Inconsistent love. Loving one minute, cool the next. I think your Yes/No lyrics capture that very nicely.

For this person, that is extreme. They are almost a reflection of the other's l…

  • Love the chorus - very strong.

I thought the message came through loud and clear: save your sorries for the preacher on Sunday you lazy $#ZZ@!

And it feels like a new way of saying it, or at least an uncommon way. Nice to find a new a…

  • I like big time radio as a hook. In my head I hear it sung out a bit more big-time-ra-di-o

Good toe tapping sound. Like the vibe.

"When you finally find the frequency". Nice! Like the tie back to the hook.

    I enjoyed that!

  • This is pretty short. And honestly it feels all over the place.

I imagine it was written on St Patrick's day, but beyond that, it doesn't seem to have much to do with it. If it's important enough to be the title of the song, then show us in…

  • Nice upbeat vibe and music. And a good match between lyric and music too.

I'd lose the la di dahs both in the chorus and the bridge if it were me. Not because I think they're bad, just a lost opportunity to say something more meaningful.

  • I'm not surprised to learn it's based on actual events - it definitely has that feel to it.

There are regrets that can't be done unfortunately. If we are lucky we can learn something from them.
