Thanks for listening and for the kind words, everyone. I was worried about this one being too repetitive without a bridge, but never did find one that worked. So I'm pleased that first impressions are positive.

I don't know much about dance music, but this sounded well mixed to me. Are the lyrics yours?

I like the philosophy of this song. Important message that we all miss from time to time.

This is a really effective mood piece you've created. It really captures well a feeling that seems so familiar to me. I love the pace you chose to take it at - so slow and deliberate. I also really like the line "as the summer's green turns to…

Really well done, Joseph. The chord progression is full of surprises, and you keep the melody of the verses inventive throughout. I am really impressed by that sort of thing. It doesn't take the easiest melodic route (which I must admit, I ten…

@RainyDayMan I failed to link to what first dropped my jaw by Ren..his magnum opus Hi Ren, which every artist everywhere should listen to! https://youtu.be/s_nc1IVoMxc

@StoneFlowers No, I meant "no notes" as in "I don't have any suggestions to offer that I think you should try/change in this song!"

Great work. No notes!

Been listening to a LOT of Ren over the past year or so. The guy is positively overflowing with talent, and sets an example that not all modern music has to be assembled by a committee of producers and beat-makers.

Lovely chord progression and vocal harmonies. You've totally captured that retro sound. Nicely done!

I was hooked at the opening line, and the rest of the song never let me down. A moody, off-kilter dream of a song that operates on its own internal logic. Well done, in May I speak to Life? Comment by mattyoung November 2024

Your tracks inspire me to get back to the basics of guitar and voice. You do it well.
"Spills all his coulda woulda shouldas Out on the bar room floor" is a really great, evocative line!

If I were to read the lyrics to I Am the Walrus in a page with no musical accompanyment, I would still be fascinated. So I guess I do have a fondness for abstract art.

Thanks for the comments, everyone.

Man, I feel this strongly. You've captured a particular feeling perfectly in words and music. Great guitar playing.

Really well done. Your unique vibe and rhythm comes shining right through. I particularly like the sparse but perfectly placed instrumental and vocal harmony embellishments.

My experience differs from yours. I am perfectly happy having no frame of reference from the artist when listening to song lyrics, and I'm also totally fine with abstract lyrics. I judge their success by the work that MY mind does when listenin…

Thanks for taking the time to listen, everyone.
Granted this is the first song of yours that I've ever heard, so my suggestion might be completely anathema to you, but I think additional instrumentation (drums & bass at a minimum) would really flesh this out. The guitar has a really great…
I like the arrangement here - great guitar sound and great vocal mix. The chorus is the stand-out melodywise, while the verses hold their weight telling the story. Will be digging into your other posts as well!
I love the groove of this. Lots of great textures for the ear to explore. Great vocal too!
