Don't Close That Door - complete version

Thank you so much to everyone who commented on the original demo. I have gone ahead and recorded the full version of this song. I wasn't really sure going in how many harmonies I would use and where. Sometimes I can hear them in my head during the demo making process, whilst sometimes I have to actually come up with them during the recording session, which was the case this time. It actually ended up being a pretty full arrangement as I also added several lead guitar bits. Let me know if I went overboard :p. I also made a slight lyrical change in the final verse after it was brought up by @prysmatyk . With all that said, I hope it's enjoyed!

Music and Lyrics by Tommy L. Day and the Runaways
(v1)
I can see you’ve made up your mind
Your bags are packed, and you’ve laid it all on the line
(v2)
What can I do, if you don’t feel the same?
Sometimes love turns out that way, and it’s just a shame
(Chorus)
But if you’ve got even the slightest of doubts
Please don’t walk out, don’t close that door
We owe it to us, before saying goodbye
To just try, can’t we try it once more?
(verse instrumental)
(bridge)
We both made our mistakes, we hurt each other, and how
Though love has made our hearts ache, we can start again right here and now
(v3)
All the tears, the smiles so carefree
They all make up the story of you and me
(v4)
If you must go, I won’t get in your way
Though I'll be haunted by all my regrets, with each passing day
(Chorus)
But if you’ve got even the slightest of doubts
Please don’t walk out, don’t close that door
We owe it to us, before saying goodbye
To just try, can’t we try it once more?
(Outro chorus)
And If you’ve got even the slightest of doubts
Please don’t walk out, don’t close that door
Don’t close that door

Well you made the right decision going with this, turned out an excellent piece. Just the right balance, didn't go overboard anywhere. Very impressed. You tell a good story Tommy, and you carry the listener along nicely.
Thank you,
Sid

Wow man, this came out great! I loved your harmonies and the chorus seems to be exactly the right 'punch' in the song itself and lyrically. Thanks for the shout out with the lyrical modification but never necessary. Shared thoughts are always free especially when they are used so well in REAL music.

This song has so much yesterday, I'm talking about a kind, romantic yesterday like the song and the lyrics. I love the arrangement, totally authentic, warm sound, lovely vocals, sweet melody so smooth and relaxing, and the choruses are great!!! The chorus is beautiful. The end is perfect. @BeatlesFan64

This came out great man! I enjoyed everything you've done here and liked the different octaves? you were able to hit in the second chorus. (if I used the wrong term please let me know)
Thanks for the call out to my suggested modification but truly not necessary. All my input or suggestions are done with the desire to share and help other artists be the best we can be, but does this mean I get .0001 percent of your revenues? LOL
Also I've a question about your statement, "I wasn't really sure going in how many harmonies I would use and where." how do you figure this out?

For something like this, a long established 1950's-early 1960's sound, it has to be perfect. I totally encourage you to keep on creating music but with this style this song needs a lot of work, particularly the vocals. You can hear it. I heard something similar in a store recently. It was a song that I believe was a worldwide hit, 50's style. It was a young guy, like 19, part duet, and it sounded very similar but it was flawless. It's on YouTube but I forget the name. Starts of with "Georgia..."

Lovely chord progression and vocal harmonies. You've totally captured that retro sound. Nicely done!
