A REAL WOMAN LOOKIN’ FOR A REAL MAN

[Verse 1]

Lookin’ for a stand-up man who stands by my side

A man who can keep a secret, won’t run and hide

Looking is allowed but ya’d better not look twice

‘Cuz should I feel slighted, I might not be so nice

[Chorus]

I’m a real woman lookin’ for a real man

Good with his hands, can think on his feet, too

A man with a big heart, a kiss true-blue

I’m a real woman lookin’ for a real man

[Verse 2]

A big ol’ shoulder there for me to cry on

A man not afraid to open up, I can rely on

Barking is allowed but ya’d better not bite

‘Cuz should I feel threatened, won’t be leavin’ on the light, yeh

[Chorus]

I’m a real woman lookin’ for a real man

Good with his hands, can think on his feet, too

A man with a big heart, a kiss true-blue

I’m a real woman lookin’ for a real man

[Instrumental]

[Verse 3]

Are there any takers? I know you’re out there, hon

You don’t need to pull down the moon, just get the job done

Drinkin’ is alright but don’t come home inebriated

Unless you wanna see your whole world obliterated, yeh

[Chorus 2]

I’m a real woman lookin’ for a real man

Good with his hands, can think on his feet, too

A man with a big heart, a kiss true-blue, yeh

I’m a real woman lookin’ for a real man

[Instrumental]

I’m a real woman

I’m a real woman

I’m a real woman, hon on that much you can be sure, yes, sirry!

[Chorus/Tag]

I’m a real woman lookin’ for a real man

Good with his hands, can think on his feet, too

A man with a big heart, a kiss true-blue

I’m a real woman lookin’ for a real man

I’m a real woman

I’m a real woman

I’m a real woman lookin’ for her real man!

Good foot-tapping song, very good performance, well done.

  • @ElvisNash trouble is I've used that same backing track 2x in the past week. I literally could sit all day and write songs to it. 🤣 don't be surprised to hear it again!

  • @sidshovel thanks so much, Sid!

I'm sure there are milions of backing tracks . Session players sell them for 10 bucks or whatever

  • @ElvisNash I agree, there are thousands of backing tracks, but I REALLY get along well with this one! The simpler, the better for me!

Wow, so catchy, especially the chorus, a great match of lyrics and backing track! And of course, we have the trademark Renee woo oohs :). Overall, a lot of fun to listen to 👍
  • I like the song overall and the quick punchy lyric, but there's a couple of spots that feel a little rushed:

can think on his feet, too

A man not afraid to open up, I can rely on

This is to a backing track, so you can't really control the chords, but it's another one that could use a little more variation between verse and chorus.

The hook and title are an absolute classic!

  • @RainyDayMan thank you for your feedback, Owen. I actually, somewhat stole the hook/title from a song on Roots Radio, I'd only heard once driving home from work. I think it was called "I'm a Real Man" so I just added to that. Funny, sometimes where hooks just land in our laps! And the best part, I wouldn't have heard the song if not for locking myself out of a customers home where I'd left some supplies inside the house. I had to swing back for them. I wasn't too happy about it after a long day but I was very happy that I got a song out of the ordeal! 😊

Are you looking for too much in a man? (you asked.) That depends. If a woman is prepared to GIVE as good as she gets in a partnership, then it's not too much to ask that the man should do the same. If what she wants from the man is less than she's willing to give, then it IS "too much to ask." It's a question that demands context. While we all assume that you are looking to give as well as you get, we have no real way of knowing. It's a question one person can only ask of themselves if they expect a meaningful answer.

@Hardtwistmusic I agree as relationships are seldom, if ever 50/50. However, I'm a Libra; that could help, but here I sit alone. However, there's nothing better than alone for songwriting in my humble opinion. It's probably what keeps me here. Or, could it be I just don't want/need the heartache anymore?

Too much information, I know. Thank you for your feedback,

As a Libra myself reading the comments made me think... What if Libras ruled the world, could we ever make a decision?

  • @ Barry 🤣 is that what's wrong with me? I have to agree. We Libras sort things out so thoroughly trying to be fair to everyone, nothing ever gets done! Glad to meet a fellow-Libra! LIBRAS RULE!

Who is saying anything is wrong with you? Whoever it is, tell them to stop it. I don't know about all, but this Libra can spend way too much time weighing the good and the bad, the right or wrong, on the most inconsequential decisions, when my first gut instinct is usually right. I'm a 10/17 full-fledged Libra mess, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Hahaha

@Barry it's ME telling ME what's WRONG with me! Us Libras are NUTS but the good kind of nuts like pistachios! Thanks for the chuckles! 🤣

Renee, I started to add even if it's you. Stop that! Send out positive vibes and get positive back, and visa versa

  • @Barry ❤️ about as positive as it gets! 😋
