Whiskey blues
What I had envisioned was Rick Derringer - Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo, what I ended up with something that sounds a lot like bonnie raitt :)

Not sure about the first line, or interlude 2,
Verse 1
Sittin here sippin my whiskey glass
Red-haired woman, done broke my ass
Lawdy knows what she put me through
Tore my soul, got me singin the blues
Chorus
Drinkin’ whiskey, feelin’ blue (Feelin’ blue)
Barroom blues, gonna see me through (See me through)
Drinkin’ whiskey, feelin’ blue (Feelin’ blue)
Tell the world what she put me through
Verse 2
Met that woman about a month ago
Silky red hair and an angel’s glow
Hourglass figure that'd knock you out
Really had no clue what she was about
Chorus
Drinkin’ whiskey, feelin’ blue (Feelin’ blue)
Barroom blues, gonna see me through (See me through)
Drinkin’ whiskey, feelin’ blue (Feelin’ blue)
Tell the world what she put me through
[Verse 3]
Took my money nearly took my life
Stabbed me in the back with my knife
Left me bleeding on the floor,
Laughin’ as she headed out the door
[Interlude 1]
Hahahha, sucker
[Guitar solo]
[interlude 2]
Thanks for the dough..
[verse 4]
You all know what i'm talkin about
Stealin' your money and knockin' you out
Never again i'll trust a pretty face
In blood red lipstick and black lace
Chorus
Drinkin’ whiskey, feelin’ blue (Feelin’ blue)
Barroom blues, gonna see me through (See me through)
Drinkin’ whiskey, feelin’ blue (Feelin’ blue)
Now you know what she put me through
Lawdy knows what she put me through

Brilliant song Bill, can't help to rock with that. Goin' for Rick Derringer with "gritty female vocal"?
Sid
Sorry, meant to comment on your request for feedback.
The first line seems out of temperament with following three,
Your going to split the listeners with the interlude, some will get it and love it, and others. (inc me) will say it distracts from an already brilliant piece. Bit like Mona Lisa holdin' a Coke!
Artistic Licence, Bill, your song, your call.
Just think it's great.

@sidshovel - this was the first one - didn't sound like what I was going for :) https://suno.com/song/bf291683-9b76-49bd-b86c-9d8aaa7ceab0 .then thought screw it.. I wonder how it would sound if instead of a male vocal, but female vocal with the same melody as hootchie koo, that's what it came up with. I like the female vocals better. the first line should read - drinkin whiskey from a shot glass. I like the 1st interlude, but not the second..

I like the first one cos it's more relative to how the lyrics are written. To be honest, the songs too good to leave as an experiment in vocals. It's brilliant and I think you should finish it, one of the best I've heard.
Sid
P.S. Consider "drinkin' whiskey from a long glass" tie in with the mood of the other 3 lines?

Great recording!
I don't know much about SUNO, only that it cuts good stuff.

Dang @bhengen who knew you could step outside your goth and write this fine piece as well. Simply reading your lyric gave me melody and now for a listen. And those dang 'red heads' to boot! Lucy-Rose, my hound dog's a red haired gal and I love her to pieces but she's a fiery pistol sometimes. Anyhow, must listen...be back momentarily...yep! Southern Rock as expected! Love it, love your singer; what a voice! Is that the same gal you use on your goth? And I love the 'Lawdy'! And yes, I expected a male singer but love the female singer just as well. And in this world, I suppose the female singer works just fine but would love to hear it sung by a MAN; a REAL man! Just clicked on the link you shared with Sid, YES! A male works MUCH better!
Dang it! You got me dancing in my seat!

@sidshovel - thanks. I really like your line, drinking whiskey from a long glass, and not sure what you mean by just finish it... @IronKnee - also thanks :).. @HummerWisdom - Renee, i was married to a redhead for 37, they are a handful :), yes it's the same female voice used in all the recordings. in respect to the man vs woman vocals. I'm torn, I like the grittiness of the female vocals, reminds me of Bonnie Raitt, still not sure about the two interludes. I might remove them..
