The Chamber

this is another song written in goth metal format

[intro]

[Verse 1]:

Blood-curdling screams fill the chamber’s air,

Upon stone stairs, I rush without care.

A wailing figure cowers, bound upon the bed,

A crack of the whip—'tis a demon sees red.

[Verse 2]

Maniacal laughter, demon strikes with might,

Opening fresh wounds, blood flows in sight.

the victim pleads as I enter the room,

The chamber doth brim with pain and doom.

[chorus]

Rage and suffering rules the night,

Hope can burn, brightens light.

Right makes might, so fight the fight

Never too late to turn it right.

[verse 3]

Such hate and anger — what hast I done?

Truth I seek, yet thy face shows none.

Empty eyes, blind 'neath rage and madness,

Lost in hope, thoust show no forgiveness.

[bridge]

I know not what I’ve done,

This torture, for reasons none.

My child, thou knowest what hast done,

Thy fate is sealed, what’s done is done.

I know not what I’ve done,

This torture, for reasons none.

My child, thou knowest what hast done,

Thy fate is sealed, what’s done is done.

[solo]

[verse 4]

My wine cup’s drained, and now must pay,

That creature, I forbade thee to lay.

Vile, inhuman, thou hast chosen thy path

For this, my child, thou shalt feel my wrath.

[chorus]

Rage and suffering rules the night,

Hope can burn, brightens light.

Right makes might, so fight the fight

Never too late to turn it right.

[verse 5]

Facing the demon, the victim I shield,

Her body welted, wounds yet to be healed.

A fierce struggle, whip wrenched free,

demon now beaten, hastily flees

the face, once with rage contorted

no longer anger, no longer distorted

[chorus]

Rage and suffering rules the night,

Hope can burn, brightens light.

Right makes might, so fight the fight

in the end, we must do what is right

  • @bhengen Tho' I'm not too familiar with goth, but I'd say you hit the mark! Isn't it funny how goth is much like Bible speak? The thou's and thou shalt's and so forth. My favorite lines:

"I know not what I’ve done,

    This torture, for reasons none.

My child, thou knowest what hast done,

Thy fate is sealed, what’s done is done."

Really enjoyed this brilliant poetry filled with fine imagery. And I love how you rescued the victim without even thinking about what might happen to you facing the demon and how it lands on a positive note of victory. Fine work.

  • thanks.. i really appreciate it. i didn't have a choice really,

  • Can't say I know anything of Goth music, bit out of my comfort zone, I'm afraid.

I did read the lyrics though, or should I say thou.

Very descriptive, good visuals, pulled you right into the middle of the story, liked that!

Are the thy, thee's and thou consistent with Goth songs, in general or just within this song?

I'll check out the genre, so I'm prepared in future.

    Thanks,

    Sid

  • I actually thought of the thoust and all that while writing, then set it to dark goth afterwards. thanks for the comment :)
