Earlier this year, I wrote this song and posted an early demo of it. I've since worked on it much more and developed it in time for Halloween this week. 🧛 The song is about Hedra, who is a beautiful and omnipotent enchantress in my forthcoming fictional horror novel.

Coming along beautifully. Are you singing parts of this in a lower register now?
Is the video something you've filmed for the song, or something you've been able to adapt? Either way it seems a good fit for this song, and I think having a video and being on Youtube is a good idea, broaden your audience.

Thanks for watching and your kind comments, Owen. Yes, I re-recorded the vocals in a lower register as compared to the early demo with scratch vocals I posted a few months ago. I also added a new reverb FX from ToneBoosters.
The video was made using free material from a web site that hosts millions of such videos and images online. I love that particular model and chose her for the video. I previously used other material featuring her in another video. I sent the material to a videographer on one of the freelance sites and hired him to produce the video.
The particular style of makeup the woman is wearing is called Muertos Face Painting and Catrina Makeup.

I recorded the vocals again in the same register that I used in my original demo earlier this year, and I also reduced the new TB reverb effect. Unfortunately, YouTube does not allow one to replace a video using the same URL as Soundcloud does. Thank you. 😀

Wow! This is not just professional quality, it's very listenable and dare I say it could be a hit song with a little more production. If there's any criticism I would say it may need some more instrumentation at some places, like a rich, piecing synthesizer. Otherwise I believe this is the best song I have heard on this forum.

I'm loving this song. A great vocal and a really good arrangement. I like your production here too. My only crit would be the drums which sound too mechanical for me. A fabulous song though.😀

Really well done, Joseph. The chord progression is full of surprises, and you keep the melody of the verses inventive throughout. I am really impressed by that sort of thing. It doesn't take the easiest melodic route (which I must admit, I tend to do a lot of the time), but instead it's clear you've really put work into an intelligent and ever-building melodic path through the chords. Kudos!
