Original song - The story of a young Englishman

This song is a story, as told in the title, and the music is written using classical melodic arpeggios in a late 1960'sdecadent pop style with timeless English rustic appeal. What do you think?

Lyrics:

He was a fine young man

He was going to the Ivy League

Then he turned nineteen

And went crazy

He took his momma's car

He drive really far

Cause he a song on the radio

That day

"Drive the car!"

We will always love you

Even in the bad days

We will always love you

Even the good days

We will always love you

He was a fine young man

He was going to the Ivy League

Then he turned nineteen

And went crazy

He got a message from the telly

He was to meet a celebrity

Cause he always thought

He's always be

We will always love you

Even in the bad days

Will always love you

Even the good days

We will always love you

I enjoyed this song, I liked it, thank you.

It fell into my narrow field of musical interest unlike your previous submissions.

The opening riff reminded me of "Paint it Black" by RS which was interesting.

You obviously have talent which you will develop in whatever direction you choose.

I can only repeat what others have said and project your voice more.

The lyrics are too abstract to appeal to a wide audience, consider providing a more descriptive road for your listeners to travel along, e.g who are "we" oft referred to?

A few things to ponder like most songs, but still an enjoyable listen.

    Thanks

    Sid

  • Structurally, I like how you repeat "He was a fine young man" the 2nd time, then switch it up at "He got a message from the telly" I think that works well.

Like the chorus with the vocals panning left/right.

The lyric doesn't speak to me with any particular message - but that might just mean I'm not the audience for it.

And your playing is always a highlight.

I found it interesting and engaging.

  • Thanks for listening. I'm glad you liked it.
