Under Her Hypnosis (new video)

Greetings, all! I've been swamped with lots of work in my businesses, but I was finally able to work with a videographer from one of the freelancer sites to create a new video for my newest song. If any of you have followed me on YouTube or Soundcloud and I forgot to follow you back, please remind me and I will add you! 😎

song from my forthcoming horror novel "Omega's Dark: The Transference"

--Verse 1
You used to be a lovely girl
Sorta lonely, kinda cute in your own way
Now that's in the past
And lost with yesterday

--Verse 2
You used to be the special one
With a radiance you made all faces smile
Now that didn't last
You've only tears to cry

Pre-chorus 1
My new love is a mega-force
She's got me, she's the one
Her draw is an attraction
With the pull 'n power of a thousand suns

--Chorus
I'm into her like a comet's tail I chase behind
Our love storm's like a winter's blizzard white-out leaves me blind
She comes and moves in her spirit
Her love takes us high
Up off the ground
Far beyond the clouds
I'm under her hypnosis now

--Release
She comes and moves and her water sends me higher now

--Verse 3
You used to be so fun to kiss
Sorta clever, kinda new in your own way
But that's over now
That ship has sailed away

--Verse 4
You used to be the only one
With a perfect whisper wrapped in love so shy
But you're over now
You've many tears to dry

--Pre-chorus 2
My new love is the only force
Behind her there's no one
Her call is an attraction
With the pull 'n power of a million suns

(repeat chorus/release)

--Bridge
Bliss is the lost state of mind
An illusion in the sky
I'm out of orbit chasing her
Past the moons of Neptune
Drawn into her light

(repeat chorus x1)

-- outro
She comes and moves and her water sends me higher now
(you're under my hypnosis now)
She comes and moves and her water brings me higher love
(you're under my hypnosis now)

  • Great track Joseph. Reminds me of a lot of 80's/90's synth music. It sounds familiar but I can't think who it reminds me of. This is a really well crafted song. My only crit would be that it's maybe a bit too long. The chorus is great but it's perhaps repeated too many times. Otherwise brilliant.

  • It's a cool video, professional polished feel to it and easy to watch. It does seem to be only loosely related to the lyric though. It features an attractive women who could be the protagonist of the song. Feels like they missed a trick not including anything hypnosis related. I do like how the lyrics are higher up the screen than they would be for subtitles - makes them more central and therefore more important.

The song itself is instantly recognizable as one of yours - and as well crafted as usual.

@ChrisPrice Many thanks for listening, your kind words, and constructive feedback. I agree, that repetitive outro could use some variation, including shortening it. 😀

@RainyDayMan Thanks for listening and your kind words! I agree about the video, but it's a relatively inexpensive service tier. To create true storytelling involves more $$$. I think as AI videography rapidly evolves, tying the intended storyline in the song to the events and characters in the video will become easy. Hopefully those tools are here soon! Some are getting close, but they're not quite sophisticated enough just yet. So, for this project, it was basically, 'show a sad pretty woman as the ex-girlfriend, and show a happy pretty woman as the enchantress who has the storyteller under her hypnosis.' But, yes, it's impossible to glean any of that without first knowing what's happening.

You can't go wrong with a name like Joseph Spain

Very nice man clicks right along man , its catchy ,

Oh yeah AI vids are pricey

  • Thanks for listening, Elvis! I appreciate the kind words. I'm striving to improve my mixing and mastering skills. It takes patience. You, Chris, and Owen always have very clear productions. Color me envious! 🤣

    Cheers,

    Joseph

  • I pay for mixing to a pro , i'm not messing with that , I'm sure you can figure it out to pro level , if you figured out whatever Daw your using

  • Thanks, Elvis. Yes, your pro-mixed tracks sound very professional. Nice work!

My DAW is Mixcraft 10 Pro. I've used it for years. It's decent, but Cubase is far better in my opinion. Chris uses it. When I build my new Windows PC, I intend to convert to Cubase.

Well If you can figure that out , The pro mix is baby steps away , I watch the youtube vids on them , And watch in studios what their doing , But I have no ambitions to do the mechanics on twisting the dials . it cuts into my fishing time

  • This sounded so pro. I enjoyed the lyrics and story you told through them. It is a real hook for your story as is very relatable. Definitely a matured song that took time to polish. Hope to hear more and more from you.

  • @prysmatyk Thank you for listening and your kind words!

    Cheers,

    Hola Joseph

I like the tension that is maintained throughout, it suits the story perfectly and the voice is amazing, sometimes it reminds me of the vocal sound of the Bee Gees!! @icystorm

  • @MoraAmaroLaLoba Thank you for listening and your kind words! Barry Gibb has been my strongest vocal influence since I was about 7... too many years ago to remember! 😀

    Cheers,

    Joseph
