Sienna Friday
A late 60's/early 70's style guitar rocker. Maybe a last hoorah for the gun toting cowgirls that seem to have occupied me of late(!!). I'm not sure that this one will be on my next album, but I had fun recording it.
(For the record a 'needle gun' is a type of vintage revolver)

Delaney Velasco in another fiasco won me over with a yarn she spun
About Sienna Friday, great gosh almighty, what she could do with a needle gun
I wanna know what you’d do in my shoes
Got sixty seconds, one minute to choose
She give me love like nobody can
Sienna Friday, I’m your man
Lucretia Borgia pointin’ at my head, Look like Sienna gonna shoot me dead
She wrestle me to the floor, and love me like crazy till my face turn red
I wanna know what you’d do in my shoes
Got sixty seconds, one minute to choose
She give me love like nobody can
Sienna Friday, I’m your man
Just when I think it’s all going too good, she flipped out she was up to no good
Spider Maya crashed into the room and totalled Sienna with her witch’s broom
I wanna know what you’d do in my shoes
Came to my rescue, like she’s nothing to lose
Give me love, let’s do it while we can
Spider Maya, honey I’m your man

Love those freaky names you give your characters!
It's a strong tune, some really interesting chord sequences there. Lovely clean mix (as always!)
Bit of dirt in the guitar works really well too. Like the ending!
Good stuff Chris!

An instantly infectious track, Chris! Great lyrics, vocals, and instrumentation. An ultra clean mix and production. I especially enjoyed the lead guitar middle that kicks in around the 1:17 mark, and then again later in the song. Solid track and a super rocker! Among your very best, man! Love it!
Cheers,
Joseph

“gun toting cowgirls” 🤣
Amusing tune! Great guitar work!
I like the “James Bond” feel to the chord progressions in the verse.
Nicely mixed. Great vocals and lyrics! 😀

James Bond?! It isn't quite the same riff but I know what you mean. Maybe I should have put a brief section in the middle somewhere and dropped down to Em and played a couple of bars of the Bond theme - that would have been fun! If I ever play the song live I might just try that!
Thanks for listening and for kind words😀

RDM, Sid, Icy and Plain_Jane,
Thanks for your kind words. Much appreciated. I wasn't sure about this one but, having listened to it again today, I'm happy with it. 😀

has sounds of punk rather than rock to me, does sounds like something from the 70's though so you nailed that.

Some of my songs do have a punk edge, but I don't think this is one of them. Indeed it is very 70's influenced.
Thanks for checking it out.😀

Enjoyed the heck out of this. Lyric is vague and strong at the same time. There is a story here, but it demands several times through to construct my version of the story in my own head. That is (in my mind) a huge positive. I also love that it kind of defies genre assignations. I usually respect, but don't like this kind of instrumental, but I genuinely enjoyed everything about this one.
