Christmas Isn't Christmas Newest song!
Hello all,
Nice looking new site. Hope all is well with everyone here. Sorry I've been scarce these last few months. I'm recovering from major back surgery. I'm doing better and ready to start making music again.
Here's my latest. Since it's that season I thought I'd start with a Christmas theme song.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks, Moptop

Christmas Isn’t Christmas

V1
That holiday spirit fills the air
With Christmas close at hand
A happy time for most but not for me
V2
That’s when my girl said goodbye
And snowflakes started fallin’
Christmas is a sad time for me
Lift
She said she found someone new
One who she loves more
V3
I walk alone around the town
Among the decorations
Every single angel looks like her
V4
I pass our favorite lamp post
With a big red bow around it
The place where we had our first kiss
Ch1
The tinsel, the lights, the Christmas trees
Reminding me of it all
Christmas isn’t Christmas without her
V5
Memories haunt me everywhere
She’s there in every window
I want us back the way we were
PC
She said she found someone new
One who she loves more
Ch2
The Holly, the garland, the mistletoe
Reminding me she’s gone
Christmas isn’t Christmas
Christmas isn’t Christmas
Christmas isn’t Christmas without her
End/fade out

So good to see you here Moptop! Christmas heartbreak..oh no!! But you do this stuff so well. As good a Christmas song as I've heard in a long, long time. Well done. Hope you are keeping well.😀

Hi Dominick. Sorry to hear about your back surgery but am glad to hear you have recovered and are back making awesome music!
A sad and relatable Christmas song. Lovely on the ears and touching in the heart. You and Patty make a good team :)

A Christmas downer - that's unusual! I can hear this playing in a Hallmark movie, 10 minutes before she realizes that she actually loves him and they meet at that lamp post :)
I enjoyed it. Nice production and vocals and I'm a sucker for 3/4 time.
I hope you make a full recovery from your back surgery very soon.

Thanks Chris.
Hope you are doing well too. Loved your last song.
Thanks Owen,
Yes, I was very surprised at the new look. Congrats! Thanks for the Cudo's!
Thanks Mora, Much appreciated.
Andrea,
thanks much! Hope you and yours are doing well too. Yes, Patty was a big help on this one.
Gavin,
Yep, you got it!!😁 This was inspired by one of those Hallmark/Lifetime Christmas Rom-Com's, well just the idea anyway. All the visuals in the song are Patty's and mine. 3/4 time? Oops, it's actually 12/8 Doo Wop. But that's okay, I get the mixed up too.
Thanks for the props!
Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Yes, the back thing was a bit of a surprise but so far I am doing okay! I hope you all are healthy and safe and had a good Thanksgiving Holiday.

Even before a word was sung, the first few seconds of music already told me this was a Christmas song. This is so smooth and easy on the ears. It reminds me of the old time Christmas classics that are so memorable. Like many holiday songs, you remind us that for those going through a difficult time. Jim Croce's "It doesn't have to be that way" or George Michael's "Last Christmas" immediately come to mind. The Holidays seem to accentuate life's burdens.
Your song Is awesome just way it is. We establish pretty early how hurt you are and that seems to be the theme all of the way through. Just wondering what it would sound like to have a little twist at the end where somehow when you least expect it, a new love comes into your life and brings joy to at Christmas. Maybe a bit of a musical change up that introduces this good fortune then returning to the same verse melody but with a more uplifting ending. Just a thought. I truly enjoyed this start to finish just the way it is. Thank you for sharing!

Nice song, moptop! Thanks for sharing. It's a good reminder about why many are down in spirits during Christmas and the holidays. I agree with Gavin that this could fit well in a Hallmark movie. I hope you make a full recovery from your back surgery.
Cheers,
Joseph

Appreciate your comments and the kind words.
Thanks Joseph,
It was one of those Hallmark movies that was the inspiration for this.
And thanks very much for your well wishes on my surgery. I got the staples out today and the doc says I'm doing very well.👍
Thanks Tom,

Rene,
thank you very much, you are too kind sir! I also want to say that I love your work as well. Your simple arrangements of the covers you do are just excellent and I enjoy them very much. They are like a breath of fresh air!
Take care!
Dominick
Joe,
Oh, no mister here! lol. Just plain old Moptop!
Thanks very much for you kind words. The falsetto goes along with being 64 and still having a voice like a 10 year old girl! Lucky and unlucky all at the same time. LOL I just try to make the best of what I have. !!😉
Take care and thanks again!
