In the cave of lost souls
In the cave of lost souls
verse
I tried religion but it didn’t take.
The devil had hold of my soul.
He introduced me to whiskey and drugs
and i spiraled out of control.
pre chorus
Into the darkness, into the void.
into the depths of despair.
A place where people go off to die.
and nobody knows or cares.
chorus 2x
In the asylum, in the asylum;
in the cave of lost souls.
verse
I tried therapy but it didn’t work.
The demons had cast a dark spell.
They seduced me with women and cocaine.
welcomed me through the gates of hell.
pre chorus
Into the darkness,into the void.
Into the depths of dispair.
A place where people go off to die and nobody knows or cares.
chorus
In the asylum,in the asylum;
in the cave of lost souls.
bridge
Where the darkness closes in on you
and you struggle to even breathe.
verse
I tried religion but it didn’t take.
The devil had hold of my soul.
He introduced me to whiskey and drugs

Into the darkness, into the void.
into the depths of despair.

This song is in need of a third verse, not because it actually needs one but because I liked the first two so much!

"cave of lost souls" is a great title! Very evocative.
I like those opening lines too:
I tried religion but it didn’t take.
The devil had hold of my soul.
It's a dark and moody picture, which seems appropriate given the theme.
