A Lost Reminder
The look you gave me
when I knew you wouldn’t stay,
the sounds you made in the night,
made me hope for a brighter day
You had a special hideaway place
when things were looking too thin
Holy birds there dismissed your sins
they tuned your voice to a mandolin
We could have had everything
we could have had anything
you turned winter into spring
but you disappeared into the hills,
your voice got lost in the forest green
all I can see now are a few traces
A different message, a different scene
Out of all those hours we spent
saying hello to life as it seemed
out of it all the silences grew
into a long sophisticated dream
We could have had everything
We could have had anything

I like the lyrics to this one. Kinda sad story. It works well with your meandering guitar style. No crits from me. This is you doing what you do and I enjoy it. Keep em comin'😀

Hi nice song, put together beautifully.

Some very evocative lines in there, like "they tuned your voice to a mandolin" - I don't quite know what it means, but it's intriguing!
For me the little guitar riffs aren't supporting the main vocal, they almost compete with it and distract my attention from the story.
Could be just a matter of mixing them down a little, and the vocal up, not sure. Anyway, just one viewpoint.
The bones of the song are all there.
