I Miss You But Less - my new song
Hi guys, it's nice to be back and see the forum still working despite all.
Yesterday I've released a new song called "I Miss You But Less".
This time I recorded it simply me and my guitar. At first I wasn't happy with the result but after I got people telling me that they love it I kinda change my mind about the recording.
I felt like the room I recorded in wasn't the best acoustically, but I think I got a decent mix out of it.
Enjoy listening and feel free to let me know what you think, Haim.

Lyrics (taken from haimshim.com):
Haim Shim - I Miss You But Less:
Where I go
I don’t know
Only God knows
Where I go
And who I trust
I don’t trust no one
Cause when I needed someone
They were gone
So now I sit with myself on another country
And the memories are fading away
I miss you but less, you know I was a mess
So now I’m picking up the pieces
You said you don’t love me no more
I miss you but less, I’ll try to take it as a test
That God has put me through
And every day that’s passing by I feel a little better
Eventually I’ll be okay, I’m always hopeful on December
I think it shows
I see it clearer
It’s on the mirror
I think it shows
You broke my heart
But not my spirit
My spirit saved me
It took the fall
So now I sit with myself on another country
And the memories are fading away
I miss you but less, you know I was a mess
So now I’m picking up the pieces
You said you don’t love me no more
I miss you but less, I’ll try to take it as a test
That God has put me through
And every day that’s passing by I feel a little better
Eventually I’ll be okay, I’m always hopeful on December
Where I go
I don’t know
Only God knows where I go
(yeah)

Hi Haim,
Very emotional song, and I can hear it in your voice.
You can really sing, and I am enjoying your lovely rendition of this lovely song.
The guitar accompaniment is perfect. The vocals is above the guitar which is very nice.
Love this, and thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful song. I don't know the background to the story you tell here, but the emotion is very real. Great voice as usual, and some fabulous playing. Top marks. A great song.😀

This is a very beautiful song. It feels honest and real, and I am sure many can relate to the lyrics. Your performance is wonderful, and the emotions in your vocals are strong. I enjoyed the listen very much!

I love that it is just you and the guitar. Your vocals and guitar playing are great and compliment each other really well.
The recording sounds really good to me and the song is beautiful. I look forward to hearing more of your work.

Lovely song! Very well done.
I think guitar + vocal can work for this, but I feel like there are a couple of issues:
- The guitar sounds a bit thin to me, the deeper, richer tones seem to be missing
- The guitar feels live and intimate, but the vocal feels processed ( in particular the echo/delay but even just reverb ). They don't feel like they belong in the same recording. Maybe try recording vocal and guitar at the same time? Or put some FX onto the guitar track as well. Just make them match
But the song itself is a beauty.
