Métropolitain

I've been absent for a while. Sadly my step-dad died in December and sorting out his affairs has and still is a time consuming affair. I'm still writing songs and playing the occasional gig, but I haven't had much opportunity to visit the forums lately. I finished a new song today and thought to myself - right, I need to get back onboard with TSF. Sadly I now learn that it's closing at the end of May. We all owe Owen a massive thank you for all he has done here. Here's a last TSF offering from me (unless someone rescues the site). It's classic rock style - that's what I do. It's inspired by another long weekend with my daughter in Paris. Nothing too deep or serious - grab a beer!

I’m heading south again to the boulevard Margeurite de Rochechouart

I’m seeing an old new friend, she live so near but never go that far

Up and down the metro line, Haute cuisine and drink fine wine

Camembert demi baguette, her gallic shrug you can’t forget

It was love on Line 2...of the Métropolitain Line

She wore the t-shirt and beret, conquered me in every single way

Broken English and broken heart, spit me out I have no say

Up and down the metro line, Haute cuisine and drink fine wine

Camembert and French baguette, the gallic shrug you can’t forget

It was love on Line 2…

with a sophisticated, cosmopolitan liberal mind and her psychedelic streak

Turn me inside out with all her streetwise and funky debonair chique

I’m heading south again to the boulevard Margeurite de Rochechouart

I’m seeing an old new friend, she live so near but never go that far

Up and down the metro line, Haute cuisine and drink fine wine

Camembert and French baguette, her gallic shrug you can’t forget

Smoking gauloises cigarettes, salade nicoise and lipstick wet

Passion like I never knew, love me till I’m black n blue

It was love on Line 2
