Alleluia… (How You Saved Me From Myself)

Here is a song that was written for my wife.

“Alleluia… (How You Saved Me From Myself)”

I’m surely not the best of men; I stumble and I fall

Try as I may, I find myself at the foot of some brick wall

It’s something I can’t get over; in my nature, I guess

Or maybe it’s something deeper, keeping me from doing my best

Alleluia… the sun began to shine

Alleluia… when your heart found mine

I’m a sinner, a tramp, and full of pride

But you pulled me over… over that wall to the other side

Alleluia, Alleluia, you saved me from myself

Alleluia, Alleluia, how you saved me from myself

Since then, I’ve walked that crooked line much straighter than before

But I have to say, the narrow path is a balancing act, for sure

Precariously, I teeter; some habits are hard to break

I know you’ve had cause to leave me if it weren’t for Heaven’s sake

Alleluia… oh, how the sun does shine

Alleluia… keeping your heart close to mine

Lost and wandering, but never on my own

How you steered me over that winding road I had always known

Alleluia, Alleluia, you saved me from myself

Alleluia, Alleluia, you saved me from myself

How you saved me from myself
