“Go On Ahead”
Here is a song that reflects my annoyance with those preachers of politic.
“Go On Ahead”
Words & Music By Tom Tognaci
And if, by chance, you feel that I’d follow you blind
Over the cliff, with me right behind….
Go on ahead and make your case
Try to convince me with a straight face
Don’t mind my laughs
Oh, pretentious sage
I’m laughing at the curtains you peer through on stage
And if, by chance, you feel that by coming on strong
I’ll see the light and where I’ve gone wrong….
Go on ahead and make my day
Try to persuade me to try your way
Don’t mind my jeers
It’s all in good fun
Your odds of changing my mind are zero to none
And if, by chance, you feel that the mask you have on
Cleverly hides the face of your con
Go on ahead, give it your all
Make up and clown suit, juggle that ball
Don’t mind my back
As I walk away
I’m on to much better things. You have a nice day
And if, by chance, you feel that I’d follow you blind
Over the cliff, with me right behind….
You go on ahead

Is there any doubt? If it were me singing and playing, I wouldn't be near as humble as you know me 😁
I am the writer, however.
Do you remember Kerry, from the Muse? I wrote this with him in mind. Some people's blather gets old, doan-cha-no

this sounds great 👍️ I'd DL and listen to this.
the only comment i have is: love the beginning line of each verse, but the very first one makes me feel like i'm starting in the middle of a song. the way its starts with "And" like there should have been something before that. (duno if thats good or bad, but something i noticed. )

Well... it's got your attention, and so that's a good thing in my book. It is a different approach, and one that begins not at the usual starting point. I try to make things interesting for myself... it keeps me going. It's how the song started when inspired, and I always try to adhere to the initial inspiration.
Thanks for listening and commenting.

Easy to get behind the message in this one!
The backing is almost too minimalist for me in this one - and I like guitar+vocal songs! But it does build up nicely in the middle before coming down again.
It's a strong track.

Thanks, Rainy... I wrote this as a Blues 1+1. It's meant to be more of a lyrical song. Suno made it very listenable.
