Song On the Radio

This one has a complicated history - started as a demo called "Listen To the Radio" (below) - added the chorus of a song I'd had for a while that I was never happy with the verse - adjusted some of the lyrics to fit the original music -I just hummed the chorus in between the music for verses and it seemed to work

SONG ON THE RADIO

[Verse 1]

I thought I'd tune you in

Before we begin the promo again

When you coming home to me

On the stereo

Lonely nights I hear you

Through the static and waves

All the things that endear you to me

Believe me when I say

[Chorus]

You think what you are to me

Is a symphony

But I think you should know

You're just a song on the radio

[Verse 2]

I listen hard when I find your sound

Ain't nothin' new in the grooves you put down

Like a record you got me spinning round and round

On the stereo

(on the stereo, whoa)

[Chorus]

You think what you are to me

Is a symphony

But I thought you should know

You're just a song on the radio

[Bridge]

I thought I'd tune you in

Before we begin

Now I think it's the end

(Oh, oh, oh)

[Instrumental]

[Symphony enters]

[Outro]

You think what you are to me

Is a symphony

But I thought you should know

You're just a song on the radio

You're just a song on the radio

You're just a song on the radio

  • Your premise doesn’t make sense. Symphonies are played on the radio too, so the metaphor doesn’t contrast anything. You’re basically saying she’s ‘lesser’ because she’s a radio song, but radio plays everything — country, pop, symphonic metal like Nightwish. The metaphor collapses.

Are you sure, AI didn't write this?

  • A "song" on the radio not a Symphony and is less than - she's saying she's not that into him

If radio songs are ‘less than,’ then symphonies are too — they’re both on the radio. The metaphor cancels itself out.

It's like saying; You think you’re a gourmet meal, but you’re just food on a plate. 😂

Your first verse doesn't follow any flow.

It would have made sense , if the radio song said I love you and he related to her that basically left this person

Now he's lying to himself cuz this song says I love you

Right now its disjointed without a clear story
