45 years ago I was engaged to a green eyed blonde, very book smart yet still had a bit of dingbat in her. Her name is Cindy but I called her Cinderella. Thought I'd write something with a bit of a fairytale theme to it.

I saw a Snow White in her smile
She said I made her dreams worthwhile

She was the girl I loved the most
I was her knight in shining armor
Fighting every dragon for her
But somewhere her heart grow cold
Left me with no hand to hold
Promises we used to make
Shattered like a castle gate

I like the story behind it, and the nick name its funny. I could see this being played on one of those Disney channel teen shows.

I think this holds up well. The fairytale theme gives it a consistent feeling throughout.
"We were young and chasing forever" yes, that's a lovely line.
I'm not keen on the cinderella / fella rhyme. It felt a bit forced. Maybe you could re-arrange lines there to make 1&3 rhyme, create just a bit of room in between?
But I do like the storybook dream / queen rhyme, I think that works well.
As a song, it's probably better that it didn't end happily ever after - not so much in real life though.
Music feels like a good fit to the lyric.

That made the first two lines about her and the next two about him..
