Why would I spend any money on a song that in the intro doesn't lead anywhere. you can have the greatest hook you want, but if you're not grabbing any attention in the first two lines, and I've established we are at a grave site, then why would anybody want to continue? As I've mentioned this song is crap. it needs a lot of work. As soon as any professional songwriter reads that first line, ti's going into the trash.

Come Elvis we both know that this song has 0% of going anywhere. It's crap, for reason stated above. I wrote this as a conversation with a grave, it fell flat.

Yes, you keep saying that, but you are dancing around the truth. these two lines i've already established what the song is about - Standing at your grave / With this single black rose, compared to steve wilson's the drive home - Cold windowpane /A car upturned in the rain. in those two lines he sets a scene, but you don't know where he's going yet. If I were to look at my song seriously, I would make the intro the outro and start on verse 1. And the refrain doesn't go anywhere. I'd make the refain a chorus and change the middle two lines of the refrain. Then rethink the verses.
