  • I'm by no means anti-AI, but I am definitely pro-honesty about it! 😀

  • I think he's kinda beating a dead horse

Just shows ya, ya can't tell humans from AI songs anymore

i can understand why many people in the music biz don't like Ai. using it to fool people is a big reason. It will eventually find its place. Ai isn't gong away, it will only get better. I think it will also force real artist to step up and make better songs or get drowned out by Ai. Listening to guys like Rick break down songs and explain why a song is good makes me think that Ai will never replace all musicians.

  • Not the AI song that bothers me, but setting up all the fake profile, pictures etc. Clearly intended to fool people. Probably to get money.

But yes, quality is good enough that you can't tell just by a listen.

If ya think about it . Why would a label spend a million dollars to record a band .

When basically you could do it all for 15 cents on a AI band ?

Lets add in $150,000 for hit writers to write 12 songs

Another $150,000 for a Producer to Make the AI songs

Its still a savings of $700,000

No session players will never be out of work , All the AI music is stolen session players work and more session players will record more music and yes that will be stolen for more AI songs . Thats the reality of it .

Babies born 4 seconds ago will go thru a stage at 21 years old , they will feel obsolete compared to the intelligence that AI will have by then.

Every 50 years or so some genius invents something that changes mankind and the old folks bitch and scream to their grave . They talk about the weather and here it comes "when I was your age things were this way or that way ". And the young folks think , yes you really are old .

  • Still, as an amateur songwriter, guitarist, singer...artificial will never replace the joy of conceiving a story , marrying it to lines and then to the right combination of changing chords, and then playing and singing it with friends. There are few things in the world as fulfilling, satisfying...as the joy of creation. 😉

Humans aren't going anywhere soon , but who knows for how long , of course Ricks hates AI songs , he's a producer. The music industry has always been about $$$ , not artist integrity .

If 3% CAN tell, then that would probably be the 3% who are educated, trained, highly accomplished musicians. Not being able to tell isn't the same thing as liking it, or favoring it over human created music. Now I am no longer one of those who can tell the difference. I used to be able to tell, and it's improved to where I no longer can. But I'm pretty sure I know people who can tell. I have two songs on my Soundcloud site that have no a.i. involvement of any kind. . . the two that real musicians like the most. That can't be an accident. Of course, more people claim to be in that 3% than actually are. Now the example song that Rick played is, in fact "radio ready." Nothing I've done, and most of what I hear from A.I. is clearly not radio ready, or even demo quality. That's partly because I have the wrong software and equipment as much as because Suno 'can't' provide radio ready songs.
