Wouldn't End This Way (Tweaked a bit)
I tweaked this one just a bit...a few different words, changer a couple of lines, added a line to the bridge, and added a tag.
Hope you guys like....remember it's a sad song.

Wouldn't End This Way
Darling, since the moment you slipped away
It's all I can do to fake it from day to day
I dream you're lying next to me at night
But you're gone before the morning light
I know it's been a while since I've stopped by
But Darling, it's because I always seem to cry
Wish I could go back to our story's beginning
Pull out my pen and write us a different ending
Then girl, you'd have never slipped away
And it wouldn't end this way
No, it wouldn't end this way
Me? Well, I tell everyone I'm okay
But I miss you more and more each day
Sometimes I stare at your picture on the wall
And I swear I hear your foot steps down the hall
My friends tell me---It's time to move on
But Darling, I can't seem to get over you
Wish I could go back to our story's beginning
Pull out my pen and write us a different ending
Then girl, you'd have never slipped away
And it wouldn't end this way
No, it wouldn't end this way
I've got roses in my hand, and tears in my eyes
Sorry, but I've got to go now, it's getting late
I can't believe how quiet this place gets after dark
The groundskeeper's angry, he's locking up the gate
Wish I could go back to our story's beginning
Pull out my pen and write us a different ending
Then girl, you'd have never slipped away
And it wouldn't end this way
No, it wouldn't end this way
It wouldn't end this way
Darling...
I wish I didn't have to leave you here

it sounds good. minor tweak to consider. "It's all I can do to fake it from day to day" ==> all i can do is fake it from day to day
or something similar. the "it's" seems out of place to me.

Tons of emotion captured.
Love the dynamics across the song.
Everything felt smooth to me! Good stuff.

Thanks Muskie,
Your right so I've changed it and also made a few other tweaks.
