Not sure this one is coming off, or at least it's not working for me.
I'm not getting either a storyline or an emotion from it. At the end of it, I'm not sure what it is about or why I should care.
There is a lot of change and dynamics in it, so success in that regard.

It seems like a guy was a sailor and came home and his woman was gone. The neighborhood wasn't the same and he had a feeling before leaving that it would happen.
I love the melody and as an artist, the listener doesn't always have to get it, I suppose, but it gives us something to ponder.

I heard it as sarcastic - he's not a sailor, but since he's being pulled into the undertow/ocean against his will, he's going to have to become one... kind of a metaphor for when life hands us a challenge and we have to sink or swim, etc.
