NEIGHBORHOODS
[Verse 1]
In passing I can feel
Another place to find
A neighborhood in the back of my mind
Through roof topped antennae
Signals stream
I can see an electromagnetic dream
Beneath my feet
I'm falling
[Verse 2]
Purple scented rose underneath the hourglass
Says it's nearly time to go
Depart the dwelling as the ocean grows beneath us
Step into the undertow
[Chorus]
Welcome home to the sea, Sailor
Welcome home to the sea
Welcome home to the sea, Sailor
Your love is gone and she left this melody
Your love is gone and she left this melody
[Instrumental]
[Verse 3]
Neighborhoods in the back of my mind
An electromagnetic ocean wave
Roof topped antennae
Sunshine turns to twilight
Time to say goodbye to the day
Say goodbye to the day

Not sure this one is coming off, or at least it's not working for me.
I'm not getting either a storyline or an emotion from it. At the end of it, I'm not sure what it is about or why I should care.
There is a lot of change and dynamics in it, so success in that regard.

It seems like a guy was a sailor and came home and his woman was gone. The neighborhood wasn't the same and he had a feeling before leaving that it would happen.
I love the melody and as an artist, the listener doesn't always have to get it, I suppose, but it gives us something to ponder.
I enjoyed the listen!

Agreed - we have AI tools to remove that now lol I may try it

I heard it as sarcastic - he's not a sailor, but since he's being pulled into the undertow/ocean against his will, he's going to have to become one... kind of a metaphor for when life hands us a challenge and we have to sink or swim, etc.
