Remember to Forget

When I was a kid
It broke my heart to give my all
Yet still come out on the quiet
Side of the cheer
I'd take a mean swing
And be so sure I'd hit that ball
I'd have to bite down hard
To try to hold back the tears
But I still recall
What coach O'Leary says to me
After giving up 9 runs
In the summer of 83
He said..
Remember to forget
The things that you've done wrong
It will only serve to hurt you
If you let 'em hang around too long
Get back in the game
And throw a pitch they ain't seen yet
And when you leave here tonight
Just remember to forget
Well, I've broken some hearts
And they've broke a piece of mine
To set the record straight
They're probably one up on me
And it still hurts inside
To lay it all on the line
Just to find out
It's another love travesty
But I still bounce back
With that memory in mind
The lesson that I learned
Long before love was blind
Remember to forget
The things that you've done wrong
It will only serve to hurt you
If you let 'em hang around too long
Get back in the game
And throw a pitch they ain't seen yet
And when you leave here tonight
Just remember to forget
It's a basic part of life
To try and learn from our mistakes
But I don't worry bout it too much
Take the steps I gotta take
Cause I know if
What I got is good enough
Then I'm sure my luck will change
Good love is on its way
Remember to forget
The things that you've done wrong
It will only serve to hurt you
If you let 'em hang around too long
Get back in the game
And throw a pitch they ain't seen yet
And when you leave here tonight
Just remember to forget

Is this 100% you, or is the music Suno.

You know that answer. And I'm not setting up your punch line0

If I knew the answer, I wouldn't have asked the question. i'm not that devious. no hidden intent. just a simple question.

Cool song and the production/mix is really good. Lyrics are fantastic with a good message. Especially like the Bridge and "throw a pitch they ain't seen yet".
The brass is a little loud for my taste, but I like the brass in it.
Listened to a little Drunken Superhero while I was there. You're a talented dude.
Well done Dom.

@dbloodworth thanks. I used my lyrics to trigger the ai arrangement. After 10 songs , and several articles in ai, thought It was clear how I'm doing it
I'm in the process of converting to suno to start doing it all myself
Thanks for listening, and great comments!0 -
If you used AI, you need to disclose that, so that those that don't want to comment on AI produced material can skip it

Lmao, there's two people responding anyway. I forgot ...to mention , I took the title too seriously.
Anything else Sheriff?0 -
Nope. only to say that your novelty has worn off.

I didn't know I had a novelty, can you explain?0

C'mon guys. Focus on the songs, not on each other. The whole purpose of the site is for songwriters to help each other. You don't want to help with this song? That's cool, help someone else! Use your time and energy productively.

You can help by demonstrating the correct behaviours: critiquing songs, not other members, avoiding personal comments etc.
A little patience and tolerance here will go a long way.

Sorry I got mixed up in this - meant no harm to anyone and apologize that I was fuel to a fire I didn't realize existed. I've only listened to a little from both of you and I'm just getting my legs back under me here. For what it's worth, I've liked songs from both of you. I don't really care how it gets here, I just listen and try to be supportive. If I don't like it, I promise I'll tell you - but in a respectful way.
Honestly, this is kind of the reason I left before. My apologies to all - I just remembered this to be a place where we helped each other. I missed that. This, not so much.

@dbloodworth you did nothing wrong in this. You even attempting to apologize is humbling. Nothing was aimed at you here1
Howdy, Stranger!
