Hi everyone, and happy Holidays. Here's a bit of a political satirical song. Any and all comments are welcome, while first impressions are most welcome. I played a little game with myself, adding syllables to the lyrical verses as the song progressed.

And, we have the will to extinguish riots and any protests we deem unfit. 11 / 9
But it's not enough... the saint thing is tough 5 / 5

This has a touch of Dylan about it for sure, but there's a lot of political references here that I don't understand, possibly as I'm from the other side of the pond. It's well sung and played and I love to hear a harmonica in any context. But the humo(u)r is kinda lost on me I'm afraid. It doesn't mean it isn't a good song of course. Sounds cool to me. Good to see you on the revamped forum.😀

Hey Chris, thanks for stopping by. And I'm glad you pointed out that you are from "across the pond".
Many of those, from "across the pond", try to convince all of us that they are just as familiar with US politics, as they are with their own country's....but, I truly find that hard to believe.
Outside of the world's staged major players, I know very little in the nuance of Britt and Canadian politics. But some of the hardest critics, against American politics, on the web sites I frequent, comes from G. Britian. I guess they are all just born super intelligent ;-)
Anyways...........the song is highly relevant, and encapsulates the conservative notion that the left leaning democrats are in it to win it at any cost. And from what I've learned over the past 30 years, the dems left leaning ends justify their unscrupulous means. I am completely embarrassed with our politics.

I confess that I know very little about American politics. I only visited your country a couple of times - both times to NYC. I loved it. I'd like to see much more but it's a long way and I hate flying!! Keep the music comin' 😀

There's a lot more to see, here in the good ole USA, than NYC. I've been to just about every state in the nation, and let me just say that there are many, many stunning and beautiful places to see. My simple rule, to see America, is to get off the major interstate highways, in travel.

Hi 65Beezer............sometimes you just have to say what you feel. I don't worry about "my audience". In fact, the people who greatly appreciate my stuff make it all worth while. I just write to have fun. It wouldn't be much fun if I were worrying all the time.

Great intro to the song! The concept of this is genius and you did amazingly well constructing the lyrics.
I read the lyrics before opening the song and envisioned the sound of the vocals almost exactly as you sang them. The music fits better than the proverbial glove for the lyrics which not only play with the fishing comically it poses nice societal pokes and the nice wordplay used elevate this song quite high.
