Sentience

As I'm becoming an older man, I find myself writing songs about time, age and relativity. We don't realise or know how much time we have....
Sentience
Desperation & prescription
Threw away my inhibition
Never time for the finest life
Cutting thro days with the sharpest of knives
Speed? Who cares just stop or go?
My destination never known
Tomorrow we’ll do this all again
Driving back but not in the fast lane
As the summer's green turns to gold
I’m waiting for bones
As the summer’s green turns to gold
Time takes control
As the summer's green turns to gold
I’m waiting for bones
As the summer’s green turns to gold
And in a moment years have gone
I get it, I just can’t keep up
But all these memories are here to stay
Spinning around around on replay
Desperation & prescription
Really didn’t know there was something missing
In the mirror who do I see?
Another reflection of stranger me

A wonderful moody and atmospheric track. Some great lines there:
Cutting thro days with the sharpest of knives
Another reflection of stranger me
I’m waiting for bones (that's dark!)
I find it far too easy to relate to this song!!
Good stuff.

I liked the song very much Steve. It was well accomplished and professional. You captured the whole tone of the song in the music and your haunting vocals. The bit I wasn't all that keen on was the bridge? Now, I wouldn't take this to heart until you get more comments in. It may be me and my personal style, but I found the volume too low for my ears and the tone a bit scratchy. Everything worked great except that bit, but as I said, it may just be me!
Overall, a really nice piece,
Well done and thanks for sharing.

Beautiful dreamy piece. Yeah I'm getting older too. Easy to relate to a "stranger me."

Wow, I love this. Some really interesting chord work and a great vocal. The section starting: 'As the summer's green...' really took me by surprise. An amazing track from beginning to end.

This is a really effective mood piece you've created. It really captures well a feeling that seems so familiar to me. I love the pace you chose to take it at - so slow and deliberate. I also really like the line "as the summer's green turns to gold" , but I do wish the vocals were mixed louder in that part as they're almost imperceptible. It pains me to see great lyrics obscured :-)
