Firstly, a few qualifications before my comments:
Blues is far from one of my favoured genres, I have little to no exposure.
I'm not a musician, so I'll confine myself to generalisations re musicality.
Having said that, I loved it!
The words and the delivery, picked me up and put me right down in the alley with him. Excellent.
The lyrics were very descriptive and conveyed the emotions well.
The guitar work helped carry those emotions, which I enjoyed.
Minor point, ref dusk with "enough to let the sun at last slip back into place"

I felt like I was watching an old black and white movie listening to this. So much atmosphere!

If it was mine, I would probably title it "Summer Rain" as the chorus doesn't include "sweet", but that's entirely up to you.
