So Many Nights

This is a song that has been around since the late 80s that I finally did a demo of...

SO MANY NIGHTS

Now that I fall for you

You're drifting away

Now that I call to you

There's nothing to say

So many nights have ended in heartache

So many loves happening too late

So many days after so many nights

So many nights lasting too long

So many loves happening too strong

So many days after so many nights

So many nights I lie awake and wait for you

Now morning comes and dawn is breaking

I'm alone what else can I do

I'm so in love with you

Now that I fall for you

You're drifting away

You're drifting away

You're drifting away

So many nights have ended in heartache

So many loves happening too late

So many days after so many nights

You turn the nighttime into day

Because I love you

If I could only see the sunshine on your face

I wouldn't be blue

So many days

and nights

Without you

So many days

after so many nights

That is a very good song indeed, I love it very much. One issue I have and its use is controversial and personal, is the degree of repetition used. Without the repetition I hear the opportunity to make it even better than it is. Whichever way you go, it is one of the best songs I've heard on here for a while.

Thanks for sharing, and don't hide these gems.

In all fairness, here's an example of some great repetition, Bruce Springsteen, "Back in Your Arms".

When it works it works great, so maybe play around with it.

  • Yes, this is a very good song. I agree with Sid's comment about repetition. I'd like to hear this played by some more real instruments if you know what I mean. You could build the vocals more too. But I really enjoyed this.😀
