Ripe Old Age

Here's a new song for your perusal. It includes my first attempt at playing a mandolin and a banjolele. My forum friend Sid gets an honorary mention here! It's an Ai song with a difference!!

I went to the Serpent Bar, I’m gonna see me a rock n roll band

I look online to see who’s on and old Sid has a gig there planned

I remember that dude from a long time back, I dig all his songs n I like the crack

Still doin’ the rounds n singin’ real gruff, yeah he’s rollin’ out the tracks

Ooh..he's gotta be a ripe old age

105 years old n he’s struttin’ the silver stage

But he’s Ai, he’s a hologram

the image of the younger man he used to be

I wander up to the counter and I get myself a cool beer

I paid the man and took me a sip but nothin’ seem quite right here

Met a girl called Little Annie, n I thought we had somethin’ real

When I reached out for her hand, let me tell ya there was nothin’ that I could feel

Ooh..he must be a ripe old age

105 years old n he’s struttin’ the silver stage

But he’s Ai, he’s a hologram

the image of the younger man he used to be

    Hi Chris,

Great song loved it. Got the ol' shoulders rockin' that one.

Ai (Alfie Igginbottom), Sid's away, I'm his clone

    Sid, Damn!!!!, I mean Alfie.

  • Well that's got to be a first in many ways! I don't think we've had a song referencing another member before, nor a hologram!

    105 though? Ouch!

It's a cool song. Really fun and easy to listen to, and the mandolin and a banjolele just slide in there.

    Nice!

  • Hey Chris , dead in the pocket , Great playing man . Oh yeah AI lol

Cool song Chris! A rocking feel good song. Following you on SC.

  • Nice rocker, Chris! Very interesting blend of unique instruments. You made it work great! Clever storytelling of the modern trend of old artists using holograms to keep their music alive. I enjoyed listening 😎

    Cheers,

    Joseph
