It's not the things I know

[intro]

[verse 1]

I know which side of the bed you like,

the brand of toothpaste you prefer.

You hate it when I burn the toast,

but like when I comb your hair.

[verse 2]

I'm learning about you every day,

every nuance in your look.

The way you smile and purse your lips,

enough for me to fill a book.

[chorus]

It's not the things I know,

that I can't live without.

It's all the stuff I don't know,

left for me to find out.

[verse 3]

Each day, I wake up in the mornings,

your bathroom things, laid out neat.

I'm getting to know, the things you like,

remember to lower the toilet seat.

[chorus]

It's not the things I know,

that I can't live without.

It's all the stuff I don't know,

left for me to find out.

[bridge]

Each day I wonder, what I'll find,

a word, a touch, a lingering kiss.

A place I've never been to,

my little world of bliss.

[chorus]

It's not the things I know,

that I can't live without.

It's all the stuff I don't know,

left for me to find out.

[outro]

  • Got a real feel good factor to this one, warmth and affection.

That first verse starts out very strong -it's my favorite part.

Verse 3 feels a bit out of whack with the rest - the style is different. You might try for something closer to v1 there. I think it's the little details that make this song.

I like the chorus. You might explore switching:

It's all the stuff I don't know to It's all the stuff I'm waiting for

    but what you have works.

    Bridge is solid.

I don't think the AI has done you justice on this one though.

Thanks for the feedback, always appreciated.

Absolutely right about v.3, way off piste on that one, will redo as recommended.

Also right on Ai, it ended up being the best of a bad lot. Lately Suno has been extremely difficult to work with, it has been throwing up some complete rubbish that goes straight to trash. Common opinion expressed by other users too.

I set a credit limit of 100 for each song and work with whatever I've got. I don't have the time nor inclination to learn to use a DAW so sometimes a lemon is going to get through. Now if we could only train real humans to do this!!!!!!

Re comment, You might explore switching:

It's all the stuff I don't know to It's all the stuff I'm waiting for

    but what you have works.

There is the obvious contrast with the know/don't know and also "yet unknown quality v rum baba for dessert."

If I switch, it will necessitate a full rejig of the chorus with an overall loss of impact.

What did the man say, "two outta three ain't bad".

    Thanks RDM,

    Sid
