No One

This is "No One," Track 6 from my new album "Dark, Beautiful World."

No One
Verse 1 (Acoustic guitars, electric guitars, banjos and drum machines):
I wasn’t what you wanted, you weren’t in love
But I’m gonna be alright
You can go out and try to forget about me
But I know that every night

Chorus (Add live drums)
There's no one you'll find like me
No one that'll light your fire
No one you feel you can't live without
So go out, and try to find someone else
But when you're all alone in bed
No one's gonna be around

(Acoustic guitars, electric guitars, banjos and drum machines):

Verse 2:
I'm sure you're down at some bar
Talking to a guy
And start to think he's Mr. Right
But I know when morning comes
And he's long gone
You'll listen to a Country breakup song
And realize you were wrong, 'cuz...

Chorus:

Bridge
(Be around) to make you smile
(Be around) to hold your hand
(Be around) to protect your heart
(Be around) to give you strength (Repeat)

Girl, there's no way anyone is gonna take my place

(Fast, erratic guitar solo mixed with heavy bass and drums):

Chorus (x2)

Comments

  • Feels like a high energy song.

Another one with an unusual structure, different line lengths etc, but all that's fine if you've got it sorted in your head.

I like the () parts in the Bridge, you've got some clear ideas of how you want things to sound.

Country/Pop feels about right for this one.
