Thought Control Lyrics

Kayla813
United States
Some guy came up to me
Tried to get in my way
I told them kindly
They could not stay
So what happened next
Reminded me so much of my ex
Thought control
Thought control
What do you gain
By lying to your soul?
Thought control
Thought control
God will catch me though
So it went on day by day
They told me I couldn't love myself
I couldn't pave my own way
Cos
Thought control
Thought control
What do you gain
By abandoning your own soul
Thought control
Thought control
God will always catch me though
I hear your condescending tone
Telling me I deserve to be alone
For past mistakes, everyone makes
Why did you say you love me?
Then say I was in your way
Thought control
Thought control
What do you gain
By selling your soul
Thought control
Thought control
I still can't lie to God though
Tried to get in my way
I told them kindly
They could not stay
So what happened next
Reminded me so much of my ex
Thought control
Thought control
What do you gain
By lying to your soul?
Thought control
Thought control
God will catch me though
So it went on day by day
They told me I couldn't love myself
I couldn't pave my own way
Cos
Thought control
Thought control
What do you gain
By abandoning your own soul
Thought control
Thought control
God will always catch me though
I hear your condescending tone
Telling me I deserve to be alone
For past mistakes, everyone makes
Why did you say you love me?
Then say I was in your way
Thought control
Thought control
What do you gain
By selling your soul
Thought control
Thought control
I still can't lie to God though

Cool lyrics, Kayla. Each of your songs portrays an interesting story. 😀
My favorite lines were these:
So it went on day by day
They told me I couldn't love myself
I couldn't pave my own way
Cos
Thought control
Thought control
What do you gain
By abandoning your own soul
I enjoyed reading your lyrics. Thanks for sharing. 😀
Cheers,
Joseph

I particularly like the "thought control" chorus. I can imagine that being quite catchy!

Hi, sounds very personal, which isn't always to share.
Quite intense. The fact that thought control is repeated really engaged me, and focused on the whole meaning of the song. The voice of someone who needs to escape
very powerful words that tell a story and emotive. Sounds therapeutic
