When My Titanic Comes In

Verse 1
Been workin’ docks of broken promises
Loading dreams on borrowed time
Everybody says my ship is coming
They swear it’s right behind the line
But the harbor’s full of prophets
Selling maps that don’t exist
I keep staring at the horizon
With whiskey on my breath and fists
Chorus
One day when my Titanic comes in
Big white ship full of my luck and sin
Band’ll be playing while the rich folks grin
Deck chairs lined up for the win
But I got a funny feeling deep within—
When my Titanic comes in… it’s going down again
Verse 2
Seen a thousand shiny sailboats
Full of talk and easy gold
Every captain swore they knew it
Every story got retold
But the ocean’s got a memory
And the ice don’t give a damn
Sometimes the dream you waited on
Is the thing that sinks your plan
Chorus
One day when my Titanic comes in
Big white ship full of my luck and sin
Band’ll be playing while the rich folks grin
Deck chairs lined up for the win
But I got a funny feeling deep within—
When my Titanic comes in… it’s going down again
Bridge
Maybe that’s the joke of living
Maybe that’s the game
You wait your whole damn lifetime
For a ship that knows your name
But the sea just laughs in thunder
At the castles that we spin
And the louder folks start cheering
The closer ice gets in
Final Chorus
One day when my Titanic comes in
Band still playing through the violin wind
Everybody dancing on the upper rim
Thinking this is where we win
But the ocean’s writing how it ends—
When my Titanic comes in… I’m swimming again

can't argue with this statement - Sometimes the dream you waited on, Is the thing that sinks your plan

good song.
like this line
-"But the harbor’s full of prophets
Selling maps that don’t exist"
suggestion for possible tweak = And the louder Folks start cheering / Closer the ice is gettin’
could work with or without the "the"

You're mining a rich seam here. Everyone knows the Titanic, so they understand the bitterness and cynicism of "When My Titanic Comes In". Similarly the deck chairs and band references are going to spark memories. It builds off it nicely.
With whiskey on my breath and fists
I like that. Gives you an impression of the narrator immediately.
Nice write!
