Shelter of the Moon
An experiment - I wanted to do a Crosby, Stills and Nash type song...
... so I wrote this to see if I could trick SUNO into covering my solo vocal melody as 3 part harmony.

SHELTER OF THE MOON
[Verse 1]
I've been hearing voices
Echoes of the past
Old lovers seeking redemption
New love coming fast
In an age of instant communications
From distant lands
All I want is a human touch
Of your healing hands
(Ooh-ooh)
[Chorus]
The shadow calls for the refugee
As the saints all pray
In holy cathedrals and shopping malls
On the perilous paths they lay
The world is a bitter place
There's no place to hide from noon
As the sun reflects its chosen light
To the shelter of the moon
Shelter of the moon
(Oh)
Shelter of the moon
(Oh)
[Verse 2]
I've been hiding for too long
All I hear is the same old songs
I want to hear a different tune
To escape the shelter of the moon
(Ooh)
The shelter of the moon
Here and now
(Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo)
(Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo)
(Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo)
(Oh-oh-now-now)
[Chorus]
The shadow calls for the refugee
As the saints all pray
In holy cathedrals and shopping malls
On the perilous paths they lay
The world is a bitter place
With no place to hide from noon
As the sun reflects its chosen light
To the shelter of the moon
Shelter of the moon
(Oh)
Of the moon
(Now-oh-oh)
(Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo)
(Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo)
(Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo)
(Ooh-ooh)

What do you mean by “shelter of the moon”? It seems to take on several different meanings and never settles on one
Also — what saints pray in shopping malls?
You start with an interesting premise, but it feels like it gets lost as the song goes on.
Just curious, which song of theirs are you basing this on, or is it a mash of all theirs.

over all this sounds nice relaxing 70s style. type of music my mom listened to when i was a kid.
verse 2- you want to "escape the shelter of the moon". I got the feeling that the shelter of the moon was a good thing. it would make more sense to me if 'escape to find shelter in the moon". or something along those lines.

I think you've got the exact sound you were going for. I found this really easy to listen to.
I like your opening verse, got me in right off the bat.
Felt like it took a bit of a turn at the chorus. I didn't understand the meaning of that, or how it followed on from v1.
"Shelter of the moon" is a lovely evocative phrase, but I couldn't interpret it.
"In holy cathedrals and shopping malls" another lovely phrase. Great contrast!
I didn't understand it, but I still enjoyed the listen!

I like the rhythm of the guitars right off the bat. I do hear the CSN vibe, but it isn't very apparent.
The lyric is a bit opaque, while not a deal breaker, but while I'm
humming your song, I have no clear meaning with what I'm humming. It's a nice piece of music... what do you think of this creation?

It was an experiment because I got the inkling to see if I could get SUNO to do some CSN type 3 part harmonies - so I really wrote the song to test it out - I think the lyrics need to be honed and redeveloped - really wrote/recorded/SUNO'd in about an hour. I will likely revise and repost. Great feeedback

Using artist names... and even band names won't yield much. I do believe song titles can be used to influence. Try that!
