Strong chorus Renee! One to sing-a-long with. And nice to see something upbeat and inspirational.
I liked how you're singing some of those lines at the end:

Rise above it, yeah
would be interesting to try one of those at the end of the chorus - though your backing track may not allow that.
In terms of your question: "Wondering where else I might have gone?" the only thing that comes to my mind is looking at specific troubles people have: disease, poverty etc and how to rise above those things.
