Hey, what’s that you said?
What you gonna do when they kick you out of bed?
Say what! Come again?
What you gonna do when the big man hauls you in?
You say that’s nothing new
But what you gonna do when the hammer falls on you?
Well…you’re going to cry a lie
And you’ll make some fool hearts weep
But gator tears are sly
Go on and cry
Hey, what’s that you said?
Just let them eat cake if they’re running out of bread
Say what! Now, come again?
You got your megaphone and the press core’s listening in
You say nothing that’s new
But what you gonna do when the ink gets spilled on you
Well…you’re going to cry a lie
And you’ll make some fool hearts weep
But gator tears are sly
Go on and cry
A big shot, a fat cat
You keep your nails clipped and your cash in the laundromat
Say what! Now, come again?
There’s no telling what kind of dirt your hands been in
You say that’s nothing new
But what you gonna do when your white wash launders you
Well…you’re going to cry a lie
And you’ll make some fool hearts weep
But gator tears are sly
Go on and cry

I enjoyed listening, Tom! It has a good 70s vibe and was reminiscent of Gordon Lightfoot from the early 70s in spots. Nice work!1

Hola @IronKnee
I think I already commented on another forum about this song, I recognized it because it's pagedizable, and I love the sound and reverb of the guitar. I also like the rattle that mates to the right, and when the voice multiplies in "go on and cry"

Sounds like Dylan with steel guitar , Chorus blended well
Great job !

Hi @IronKnee
I'm pleased to here this again. It feels really like a late 60's fun song, like something Traffic might have made if they'd been stateside. I think that maybe because the chords remind me of the sheer musical joy of You Can All Join In by Traffic - a fun song if you fancy checking it out. Some great guitar.
The harmonies are something I didn't really zone in on last time bud, but they're really powerful and fully utilised. Great job.

I enjoyed the rhyme structure on this. Along with the steel guitar. It's been said before, but this definitely has that coveted 60's/70's Dylaniness going for it.0
