That's a tear jerker. Love these lines:

I thought this one might bear tweaking: I can't bear to look at it again. → It hurts to look at it again. More of a, it hurts but I'll do it anyway vibe?
I'm not sure V3 with the guards is really working. Which is odd, because I think it works very well in the outro. Perhaps it could be something about scanning the crowd knowing you can't possibly be there? Or memories of a previous time there washing over them?
It's full of emotion and pathos, tremendous atmosphere.

Inspiration came not from the real Trevi Fountain, but from a minature copy in a fun park situated in the foothills above Da Nang in Vietnam a few months ago. The place was full of couples getting their pictures taken in front of it. There are stories everywhere if you know where to look.
