Take On The fire

“Take On The Fire” was written as a warning to all those who would fall into the world of creation with artificial intelligence. A.I. is the new and exciting fad, and the fascination with this technology assures its foothold in our psyches. The promise of easy artistic works will lead us down a road of creative dependence. It has already begun.

“Take On The Fire”

Take on

Take on the fire; the fire will take you

You play the game, boy, but the rules weren’t meant for you

Step in the box, and the box will shut you in

Cut you off before you can begin

Take on the fire; into the flames you go

Just be careful, boy; it’s a world you’ll never know

And how you’ll yearn for that thing no one can teach

Always close, but always out of reach

And I know you know better, but it’s the game you have to play

Beware those puppet strings when the spotlight blinds your way

Take on the fire; it’s here and all the rage

Yes, it’s tempting, boy; it’s the start of a brand-new age

And you’ll go on, only to one day feel

Rather numb to all that was once real

And I know you know better, but it’s the game you have to play

Beware those puppet strings when the spotlight blinds your way

Take on the fire; into the flames you go

Just be careful, boy; as the flames begin to grow

Take on the fire, by the time you feel its burn

The time will be long past the point of no return

  • I read the lyric before your note, and I thought it was about AI, so I'd say the message is coming thru nice and clear.

Really like the chords you're using in the verses - and the melody! I like those drawn out notes.

    Nice sharp ending too.

Very topical! I have a different take on AI, but I sure like this song!

  • Thanks, Rainy....

I didn't really know what to do with this song. Rather than a more colorful, detailed production, a penciled sketch of a song seemed a whole lot easier. It's hard to do Pink Floyd.

    Thanks, again!

  • Thats very well done Tom , I got nothing about AI in this song , Just stay out of trouble

    Best song from you yet

    Nice job man

  • Totally agree @IronKnee with the introduction to your song. AI = human enslavement....until there are no more humans as in transhumanism; the meshing of man and machine. Very slippery path we're on. While AI could be used for the betterment of mankind, it won't be because those at the top running the horror show are satanists, plain and simple. Now, I'll read your lyric and then listen.

Nice job using metaphors; let 'em wonder what it's about. They'll soon figure it out as your lyric displays especially your final verse. Well done through and through.

Thoughtful lyrics to ponder especially in the very non-AI way you're presenting it. I sometimes wonder if I'm playing too much into AI by using MIDI and sample libraries but I, as most people doing what we're doing here have a very limited choice of resources and finances. I'm just grateful that I can produce the kind of music I've always enjoyed in my little home studio. I don't mean to threaten any real musician's livelihood but what I have is all I can afford.

Anyway, thanks for presenting a very thought provoking song.

Right AI is the devil . give me a break , it will help mankind, Yes some will abuse the technology . Nothing new . Medical robots , science help . As far music robots , its just a song , It's not threatening live tracks , Just competition to beat robots.

An optimistic person thinks the best possible thing will happen, and hopes for it even if it's not likely. Someone who's a tad too confident this way is also sometimes called optimistic. If you see the glass as half-full when others see it as half-empty; if you look on the bright side of things, you're optimistic.

I never saw the value of pessimists .

Publishers never ask for a explanation , They say play the song

  • Thanks, Elvis....it's not my best, for sure... but, I'm glad you like it.

I purposely didn't want to spell it out. The song is a warning for anything that might be handed to us as a fad.

Although, my aim was at A.I. I think I hit the mark with others.

Hi Renee...thanks for commenting. I use to worry about my use of metaphors. I don't any longer. I take great care with keeping the inner, inside meaning coherent. If some don't get the song, I hope they still like the music. It's OK if some don't get it. I get it and am tickled when others do to.

    Thanks!

Thanks, John......and a VERY non-AI it is. My favorite bands are the raw and sloppy geniuses of the 60's and 70's.

I rather dislike the perfect high glossy productions that seem to be the standard of today.

As far as MIDI, as long as you are the one writing the script, it's all good.

AI is nothing but how it will be used by others. I don't trust people to do the right thing when it comes to money, influence and power.

Maybe publishers should start asking. I suspect that most don't care.

    I do.

  • No it’s not that , they want to hear the song and not a lecture before you play it
Pretty standard in the real business world
No biggee Tom it’s a forum song
  • You didn't have to read it, Elvis.

It is no lecture...but I understand where you are coming from. I can smell the smoke all over you. You're Just a bit too close to the fire, if you ask me.

    LOL

Well it's right there , Ai possibilities are endless , But yes the watch dogs will keep an eye on it . This song could be about anything without your warning about AI before the song started .

  • Yes, it could be about a number of things... recreational drugs, for example.

But the shoe does fit very well with the AI predicament.

  • @IronKnee - if you are going to have an anti AI song, then simply just say it your lyrics, rather than bury in a song that could mean anything. For example, it could be against cars when horses were prevalent, 1902, the Literary Digest quoted a writer who claimed that “the horse is here to stay, but the automobile is only a novelty. Or, how about in the 1970's my dad had two computers, one he built himself and a TRS-80, but many felt that computers would never make it in the home - Ken Olsen (Founder of Digital Equipment Corporation, 1977) – Said, "There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home." . We both know how those turned out.. I was at a Carl's Jr. and the drive-up order taker was AI, not a human, that tells me that the parent company that owns Carls, Jr. see's AI as more than a "fad". Your lyrics are good, but if you want to have an anti AI song, then please add those to your lyrics, then repost.. I would be curious how you would incorporate that in this song.

I like this a lot, it spoke to me about the ways of the world, and the weakness of men when it comes to vices. I don't usually read the explanations when people post them until after I hear what it says to me. Not all fires burn with the same fuel.

  • Actually, bhengen, I worked to keep the words AI and transhumanism out of this song.

I'd much rather keep my exact intent veiled. My preface to the song is like a teaser of preview that a movie might present. It doesn't ruin the movie but actually sparks an interest. I am going to start doing this with my music. People can read the preface or not. it will be up to them.

    Thanks for listening and commenting.

    Yes, sir. I completely agree.

And thank you for listening and commenting. I'm glad you like this!

@ElvisNash yes, AI is the devil because the satanists and their minions will be feeding it. For example, children in school will only be learning what the demons teach. Children will no longer have that 'rogue', awake human teacher to point them in the right direction. You think HIStory is false now? Just wait......And it starts with the children. Once they have the children, of which they do for that most part already, ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!

On that other note, as I stated previously on this thread, AI COULD be used for the betterment of mankind...BUT it won't be at least in the LARGER way.

Said my piece, I'll say no more,

    Renee

  • I don’t look at AI that way , but that’s cool you live in.the Bible Belt , I’m not surprised

    all good Renee

  • @ElvisNash I may live here but I don't come from here but yes, I do look at politics in a politico-religious way, tho' I don't consider myself religious nor extremist; but a Believer. I see things as they are...and as they appear to be because the Serpent is a trickster, indeed!

The song hearing it has nothing to do with AI , so I’m not sure why we’re having this discussion . It’s just a song on dangers on modern times .

I believe the top two issues for Trump to tackle is: #1- The border and #2- our schools. Trump is taking them on as promised.

    Thank God.

As I am the writer of this, I can tell you in no uncertain terms, that this song has EVERYTHING to do with AI.

IMHO, the beauty of "Take On The Fire, is that it can be perceived according to the perception of the reader.... as demonstrated by our good man Elvis.

  • Now you’re bringing Trump in ?
Well whatever I enjoyed the song
It hits on modern society and problems

@IronKnee don't know how to repost so I copied your statement instead as follows: "I believe the top two issues for Trump to tackle is: #1- The border and #2- our schools. Trump is taking them on as promised."

    Thank God.

My take: BEWARE of Trump's moves; yes, while it might appear he's doing something about a lot of things, those pulling the strings KNOW that they have to give the Trump Train, to keep 'er going, something which seems favorable.

What Trump is REALLY doing for that most part is tearing it down to build it back up; tearing down the old, making way for AI to build up Babylon more. A world interconnected and dominated by AI; surveillance a key aspect of AI as in human enslavement. You may have heard it referred to as "Build Back Better". BUT Trump is certainly NOT acting alone, he is just doing what most President Puppets do; going along to get along, playing his little part. Keeping in mind all President's come from the same bloodline; this is a proven fact.

Over almost every President, King, World Leader, the UNelected; RULE this world and they are vicious and bloodthirsty. Rothschilds' and Rockefellers' would be good examples. But there are several more like them.

So far as the borders, yes, Trump appears to be doing a good job. But then in 4 years, they'll just let 'em flood in again like they have in the past. So far as giving the states the schools, well, just time will tell but AI will be running those schools and any state which doesn't go along to get along will be under grave threat.

I say this with love because I too voted for Trump in 2016. And have learned A LOT since then in relation to how the satanists at the top think; tricky sons-a-b's!

    Renee

  • Hummer brought up our education system, which has been a major concern of ours for many years.

Trump is not "He who's name we shall not speak"...."Voldemort". He's not some buggy-man.

I addressed Hummers post, and didn't intend it to apply to your comments.

And Yes, Hummer... we must always stand vigilant. Trump is tearing down The Education Department is something we've been wanting for a very long time. We are #1 in spending money per child, and #40 of 40 (last) with expected results. in short, our education system sucks!

Let's all stand vigilant but give Trump a chance.

But, then again, just keep on the attack....I really don't care.

It's good a song but I have heard this very similar chord progression somewhere. The Guess Who? The Beatles? Donovan? Some later 60's artist.

The singing is very good. I like more electric music myself. If you added some more instrumentation I think you'd be great.

I do not think AI will become anything, contrary to what many people think. It's already recently given me wrong information and I'm sure I'm not alone. The chat feature is interesting but it's only as good as someone tells it to be. It will never be like chatting to a real person.

  • Just can't edit anything here......gotta be careful when enjoying the wine!

  • The chord progression is a simple as it gets. There are probably millions of others who have used it. And AI is going somewhere. It's still in its infant stages. I too have had some fun with AI chat. Its responses are often ridicules.

Thanks for stopping by for a listen and a comment!

  • I don't worry about that circus to much , just write songs

  • I find a lot of what the circus is doing simply amazing.

  • ha ha ha , yeah I guess so Tom
