Dull

Here is something I've recently finished. The songwriting and lyrics weren't really a big focal point, I was more trying to put down something simple to work on mixing. I recently mic'd up my drums and was trying to get levels right, still not quite what I was wanting so still some work on the setup and mixing. Anyways let me know what you think, I'm open to any sort of feedback on lyrics, structure etc.
Lyrics:
Somethings got your nose
Quite the sturdy hold
Says don't you know
You're running out of fight
The cops are on patrol
Picking on the poor
Says don't you know
You're not coming home tonight
The rhythm of the rain
Reminds you of the train
That took you home
In the middle of the night
The man who holds the rope
Is reining in the choke
So that you know
Who really runs the fight
You gotta roll over, over
Come inside its cold
You think that when you're old
You'll get it right
Like someone else's life
40 rounds to go
Your back befriends the rope
Says don't you know
You'll give 'em hell tonight
You gotta roll over, over

That was really cool, had a Beatles vibe to it to me. Have you thought of adding the roll over line after "In the middle of the night"?

Lovely song, enjoyed this very much, well sung and performed.
"Your back befriends the rope"
If ever, one line captured a paragraph!
Excellent piece of work,
Thank you for sharing.

John Lennon, post Beatles is how I hear this. Even the production sounds period correct. I'd perhaps consider turning up the vocals a bit. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this. A great song and a really good arrangement.😀
