I Know How To Cry

No doubt we all do. Thought it might be interesting to admit it in a song.

Hey I want you to know
I know how to cry
I know how to let em flow
When I get down that low
When I lose love
When a friend dies
When I’m sick of trying
It’s just a matter of timing
I see something beautiful
I got to let em go
Something bites me
Got to let the tearrrrrrrs flow
Sometimes I need a good cry
And when I’m done and dry
I can’t help but shine
I’m ready for a good time
Hey myyyyy mind
Wants to fight against time
But I never win
Crying time again
Crying out loud
I got to let em go
I get that low down
Got to let those tearrrrrrrs flow
I get dowwwn low
I need a good cry
It’s something beautiful
To free my mind
tag
There was a time
I held em inside
Cuz a man ain’t supposed to cry
He’ll take another twist of the knife
But when I’m done and dry
Got my hands in the air
There’s no more hurt inside
No more worry to care
I see something beautiful
I have to let em go
Something bites me
Got to let the tearrrrrrrs flow
Said down low
Well I need a good cry
I see something beautiful
To free my mind
Said tears of joy
The time has arrived
To laugh till you cry
Cuz we’re gonna have a good time
tag
Now if you don’t know how to cry
And the world kicks you down
Down on your knees
Beggin for the mercy please
Well something needs to
Let it all break free
I said something beautiful
You gotta let the rain fall
Aww let the rain fall
Oooo let it fall

I see something beautiful
I have to let 'em go
Great subject for a song, and you nailed a lot of aspects of the subject - nice one!

It's good how you take a one line statement and expand on that with so many variations and scenarios.
I call these type of songs, "shopping list songs, SLS" for obvious reasons, and they are so difficult to pull off.
You, however, managed to introduce so much variety within the song both vocally and musically to keep me hooked throughout, nice going.
Enjoyed it very much.
well done again.

As always thanks Sid. Lil problem, the bank account is empty, I'm out of cash, will a payment in Bitcoin be OK? 😉

It's a subject that everybody can understand, beautiful portrait from different angles that delve into the subject. Nice story

I love this. Crying is something that some guys try to shy away from. Something to do with the way we're conditioned I reckon.
Your vocal here is superb. You're daring with some of those high notes! My fave of yours so far I reckon.
Brilliant.😀

Beautiful song. Takes a brave man to admit to crying. I love all the reasons you gave. I smashed the 'like' button, YT. More please.
Have a lovely writing day,
Renee

Sounds like Elvis. I think you need a standup bass, a little 50's electric guitar and some backing vocals. This is the far best one I have heard from you. Don't stop.
By the way I spent Thanksgiving years ago in Cape Cod. What a perfect place for that holiday. Also, at least one summer holiday there as a kid. Very nice place.
