Help me write this song

I was having a drink with an English friend of mine the other night (here on Cape Cod).  He brought up the subject of Catholic Whiskey and Protestant Whiskey.  I’d never heard the terms before.  As soon as he did a voice in my head said…”there’s a song”.  I know many of you here are British so I was wondering if you could help me with some knowledgeable original lyrics, chorus, or music, (not that I think you’re a bunch of drunks).  Probably want to continue with the Church interplaying with whiskey and a life ruined, or perhaps saved in the end.  Or take it to where you think it should go.  Here’s what I’ve got so far…

I'm a Brit but I can't say that I've heard of Catholic or Protestant whiskey. Mind you, I'm not a whiskey drinker. Sounds like it could be more of a Scottish or Irish thing to me, but others here maybe more knowledgeable.

I can't really conjure anything up lyrically, but I'm really liking what you've done so far.

My first lyrical fragment of thought involves "catholic whiskey and holy water." Second would be about "catholic whiskey and communion wine/wafers. Not much help, but it's all I've got.
