New in the brotherhood, checkin’ out the sisterhood I moved in last week n I walk a fine line

A game of russian roulette dicin’ with the coolest dudes I’ll be in trouble just a matter of time

I couldn’t help but notice

I had to stop and stare

She got the purr and demeanour of a cat

and she wink at me like she’s sayin’ do it if you dare

Meet up second time gotta feelin’ that the chemistry is kickin in n’ everythin’s gonna be right

Two peas from a pod we’re duckin’ and divin’ two hearts beat together gonna be up all night

I couldn’t help but notice

I had to stop and stare

She got the purr and demeanour of a cat

and she wink at me like she’s sayin’ do it if you dare

Ooh, she cast her spell n take me there

I had to stop and stare

Ooh, I got magic picture eyes

And it hit me right there

Ooh, sorceress she’s in my head

I had to stop and stare

Ooh, necromancer of the bed

She take me right there

Nice lyrics. I really like the vocals / guitar playing. It reminds me a lot of STEVE MILLER BAND.

  • Love these lines:

She got the purr and demeanour of a cat

and she wink at me like she’s sayin’ do it if you dare

and the musical pause on "do it if you dare"

Necromancer doesn't feel 100% right, but it's hard to see something else that's better. Virtuoso? Wizard of the sheets?

But otherwise, nothing not to love!

  • 'Wizard of the sheets' I like that! Could be the title of a whole new song!😀 Yeah, necromancer is a bit of a strange word to use. It seems a bit clumsy somehow. I do like 'virtuoso'. I might give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Hi @ChrisPrice

Over 3 minutes eh? It'll be 24 minute prog tracks next. 😁

As usual it's a great slice of universal rock with your trade mark 'deliver the hook' pause a beat, and resume music. I like the little keys breaks on this one - it give a nice bit extra colour.

The guitar break it great with that reverb giving a whole extra quality to the song.

    Nice on bed,

  • 'deliver the hook' pause a beat, and resume music....you're absolutely right! I never thought about it before but it's something I do a lot. It's down to what I grew up with... 'Boom boom Out go The Lights, Eddie Cochran"s 'Somethin' Else'..The Beatles 'Bad Boy' - Hey Junior Behave Yourself!! and all the rest. Great music.

  • @ChrisPrice . . . really liking this one, and great balanced mix ! There are some super cool bass and guitar licks through this that really kept me interested . . . did I hear a touch of horn shots near the end ?, (3:00 min) maybe you could have expanded that to other areas ? (Otherwise those guys are mostly just standing there swayin' to the groove for the rest of it) Organ and Rhodes parts really jump out nicely in parts, well done there. I'm OK with the "necromancer" lyric . . . not a word commonly used, so I had to look it up, it totally fits.

FYI, when I listened without watching the lyric posted . . .

"She got the purr and demeanour of a cat" sounded more like "She got the perfect demeanour of a cat" either way works for me, LOL

Just a great upbeat production, really enjoyed listening !

  • Absolutely - I think it's an underused tool these days - clever use of silence is great for emphasis and you've mastered it.

  • Good stuff, Chris! All your stuff is always so radio-ready. I'm envious ;-)
