The music feels very warm, as does most of the lyric
but "foolish heart" seems at odds with the rest. There's nothing in the rest of the lyric that suggests she is being foolish. I wonder if "open heart" or something like that would be more in keeping?
That said, it's a lovely melody! I like the simple style of this recording too.

On it's own without the music, I didn't respond much to the lyric. It didn't speak to me. But man when you sing it, IT SINGS. I'm guessing this is one that you wrote music and lyric together on instead of one, then the other. Loved the song. I was surprised how much I loved it. That happens.

Thanks H.... I've heard that almost all of my life. I've been in hundreds of lyric contests, and they are ALWAYS ranked low by my peers. Then a magic happens... when they hear the lyric married to the music, the response is quite different.
I always write the lyric into the melody, hand in hand, as I put the song together.

Telling yourself you suck won't get you know where . it takes a bit of courage to get in your own corner and not rely on machines , At 72 years old I still find it challenging . You have to block out time has left you behind and get on with it . What are you 50 years old ? I got shoes older than you . How many people have I seen that said you're talented ? Quite a few .
