Ready to Live

Happy New Year, Everyone!

I've been busy writing albums and my last album "Unapologetic Pride" last track "Ready to Live" got me to thinking how I want to learn to play the song!

Produced with Suno - Robert and Roberta robots.

Lyrics: Me

YouTube link: Ready to Live

[Verse 1]

I’ve been trapped into this place too long

One day, I’m happy and the next day

It’s another sad love Jones

I have nothing to take

But so much to give

I am ready to live

[Verse 2]

Why does it pain me to say

I can finally be at peace

Don’t cry for me

I can fly and spread my wings

[Chorus]

A concrete flower who is ready to live

Sprout into an unknown

Maybe a beautiful butterfly

I am ready to live

I’ve given all I got

Existing is too much to bear

You will feel and smell me in the air

I am ready to live

[Verse 3]

It will never be a good-bye but a farewell

I’ll be right by your side

Spreading everlasting love everywhere

I am ready to live

I have nothing left to give

[Chorus]

A concrete flower who is ready to live

Sprout into an unknown

Maybe a beautiful butterfly

I am ready to live

I’ve given all I got

Existing is too much to bear

You will feel and smell me in the air

I am ready to live (ready to live)

[Outro]

I am ready to live

I’ve given all I got

Existing is too much to bear

You will feel and smell me in the air

I am ready to live

  • Beautiful song. These are catchy lines - Existing is too much to bear / You will feel and smell me in the air. I like how you ended on I am ready to live. cathartic, to me :)

Enjoyed so much lyrics!!!! great lines here and there....

  • Wonderful groove and vibe. Seems like a tight fit to your lyric.

I love the "ready to live" hook. Feels so positive. The butterfly metaphor too. I hope it's how you are feeling!

The verses seem more conversational in style, whilst the chorus is more poetic, and I like that contrast.

Don't know how much control Robert and Roberta give you, but you might try restricting the a cappella ending to just the final line.

Really enjoyed that! And nice to see you back!

  • Roberta robots lol . Thats well written , Cool feel , That should work

  • Thank you, Mora! I appreciate you listening and commenting.

Happy New Year, RDM!! Yes, I'm back and I'm excited as well!

Thank you for the comment and suggestion, unfortunately, I don't have much control over Roberta and Robert unless I go another 100 takes with them. I feel like I'm in a boxing match and I'm still learning Suno.

BTW: I want to ask if this song will be easy to string on the guitar? My hubby is looking for a guitar for me so that I can learn. I need something for beginners not too cheap or expensive that will get the job done. Any suggestions?

Hi Elvis, yes, Roberta, my robot. Thank you and I'm finally listening to you on how you tell us to pick up a guitar and learn it!

I want to string together this song.

  • Thank you so much, Bill! I appreciate your feedback and listen. It means a lot to me.

  • In terms of difficulty, your song is probably not one for an absolute beginner, but it shouldn't be too bad. The tempo is on the slower side, which makes the chord changes easier, and the lead riffs seem to have only 1 note at a time, mainly on the same string. I think you can expect to be able to play it once you have some experience under your belt.

In terms of choosing a guitar, I would recommend talking to someone at your local music shop. They'll be better placed to guide you on the choices that are available there. Personally I like a light gauge steel string acoustic for the sound and playability, but they are a little harder on the fingers when you are first starting! Try a few different types out and see what feels comfortable. I wouldn't pay too much money up front. You can always upgrade later on.

  • Hi Tammy… this is quite heartfelt and poetic, with themes of transformation, release, and embracing life after hardship. Love the "concrete flower" and "butterfly," symbols of growth and hope.

Very compelling. The melody works nicely with your lyrics.

  • Thank you, RDM. Yes, indeed, it's the lead riffs that I REALLY want to play. I'm a fast learner so once I can play it, I will come back and share. I haven't been to a music store since buying my daughter her flute years ago that's packed away in the closet. We paid a pretty penny for it, and I don't want to do the same with the guitar. As long as I can get close to the strings, it will suffice. I know you have experience as a guitarist and I needed your advice.

Hi IronKnee, you hit the meaning right on the head! I also, like to use the titles to my previous songs, "Concrete Flower" "Don't Cry for Me" and reference them in my songs.

Thank you and I appreciate your feedback. I look forward to more of your songs (especially the guitar playing) as well!
