I know a man who is quite wealthy

But he always looks so sad

Always worried about keeping

All the things he had to have.

For all his prized possessions

And the status that they brought

He really is quite lonely

It’s truly lonely at the top

It’s not lonely at the bottom

All my friends are here

Laughing, joking, cutting up,

A loving lively atmosphere

It’s not lonely at the bottom

We all cast our cares away

All our worries are forgotten

We’re living life just for today

There’s a woman who has a husband

and she is wife number five

She spends her life going shopping

Because she feels dead inside

He gives her what she wants

But never what she needs

He’s too busy getting more

Soon she too will set him free
