Let’s Make America Great Again

Hi folks, with a title like this I don't believe a trigger warning is necessary 😉

This was written in the spirit of our American revolution, reflecting the long, hard four years that the MAGA campaign journeyed to the White House. It's not intended to disparage any of the fine people of America. Consider this message with a grain of salt, or not. It's my song, and it's a song attempting to capture the fighting spirit that gave us that historic victory we call the presidential election of 2024.

Let me know what you think. Thanks

There’s no time for wasting the time that we have.

Bandage the wounded; lay thick the salve.

The battle was won, but the war presses on.

Make ready, you Captains; it’s only begun.

And it’s a matter not of if, but when.

Our hearts may buckle and bend,

But if the cause is worth our blood to defend,

Let’s Make America Great Again.

A prayer for the good men true to the cause.

To you fine ladies, deserving applause!

For here I know not who of us God will save.

But we’ll win for all those laid into a grave.

And do I hear a rousing Amen?

Take heart; our prayers will ascend,

And if our cause is worth its fight to the end,

Let’s Make America Great Again.

To the big whips of Congress and all you unknowns,

Stand up and get off your paper thrones.

The road to glory will be met with a shrill,

For the devils are here, and on Capitol Hill.

The time has come to root out the sin—

The traitors, the turncoats within.

If our blood is worth more than the ink in your pens,

Let’s Make America Great Again.

To all you nay-sayers who sit in the back,

Just shaking your heads and throwing up flak,

The road’s a long one and it’s hell-awful wide.

You’re welcome to join us or move to the side,

And we’ll see the true colors of men—

The ones that count in the end.

It’s the red, white, and blue we fight for, my friends.

  • Well I don't agree with the sentiment, but it's well written.

Got a Dylan, protest era vibe to it.

I hate politics but...I have to say you've penned a great story, nice melody, got a great voice. Nice to hear just a voice and guitar...Is that a banjo in accompaniment?

Well, I was a Trump fan; voted for him back in 2016 but since then have learned a lot. But I always enjoy a good political song coming from either side as I'm not on either seeing them as one in the same surrounded by the swamp and of the swamp.

Now, for a listen. Lots of great lines in there @IronKnee And as Rainy says, Dylan-like for certain. I suppose Dylan doesn't write these social justice songs as much if not, anymore. It truly is up to us no matter which side of the fence we sit upon or if we're some place in the middle. This great nation is MOST certainly on the brink of falling to the communists. As was Germany; history as taught to us is a LIE. Very sad and frightening. May Americans and the world WAKE UP in time! And may God Almighty show mercy to us all! Sorry, I couldn't take your song with that grain of salt.

    Enjoyed this very much,

    Renee 💌

  • @IronKnee - It's not a powerful message as it could be.. certainly not anthemic based on your description.. good melody, but you could have a tad bit more passion behind the music. if this is your conviction, then really sell it.. To be honest, I listened to about 1 minutes of the music, which reminded me of the times are a changin', by dylon based on owens's comment.then listened to that.

Hey Renee why would Dylan write protest songs now , He's worth 500 million . He's got nothing to bitch about really living in Malibu

I hate political songs Tom , But you did a good job on it man , Keep rock and rolling . Trumps raising hell like his last term . Political songs always trigger people

  • Thanks, Rainy... your reaction to my sentiment does not surprise me. An "anti-America first" agenda seems to be a prerequisite amongst most musicians on this and sites like this.

You and me both. I would much rather focus on love songs. I HATE the politics of this country.

Thanks for the kind words....and yes, it is a banjo. My son-in-law can play any instrument made.

Thanks, and I prefer that you don't take it with salt. Straight foreword is the best way.

It's all about the title of this song. I like what Trump has done and is doing, but we must always stay vigilant. It's all about this country... not one man's administration or any one party. It was a monumental effort to get back to the White House; historic, even.

I believe it is something to write about!

Well....I'm not Dylon, nor am I some performing artist. If you want to hear what a song of mine would sound like in the hands of an artist, then listen to the next track.

I write 'em and record them the best way I can. It will either resonate, revile, or do nothing. I've accepted that some 20 years ago.

  • @IronKnee , didn’t say you were Dylon, Owen said that. My comments are purely based on you and this song. If you’re going to have a message, then say it with conviction. Own it.
  • @IronKnee - I will give you credit for using salve in a song.. I don't think that's been done before :)

  • I do own it....I love it. As far as "conviction"...... you do realize that singing, oration... storytelling is a talent?

LOL. I do the best I can with the tiny bit of time I have.

And "salve" is a pretty cool word. I've had to explain it to a few inquisitors.

  • Politics has to be worse than wondering why my car broke down to discuss . All they do is piss people off and divide a country already divided .

  • Good point. My Bonafide's is that I'm a retired, old, white man. My song isn't one of spotlights, multitudes of people, and designer genes. Hehehehe.

designer genes ? lol , everybody that runs the country has them I guess . I don't follow the circus much , I see Trumps all over you tube by liberal talk show hosts , looking for a laugh

Hey I'm listening to your other stuff, unique powerful, draws me in. I'm just working with me and a guitar, but I just loaded Logic Pro and I'm working my way through understanding it. Can I ask, what DAW are you using?

You don't wanna hear my latest 'political' rant/song (nor would I post it here): "The Hammer and Sickle". THAT'S what's REALLY going down for the WORLD. F Trump, he's IN on IT along with his largest oligarch sponsors, Adelson and Musk. And that goes for Bibi, too! I suppose I'm a Libertarian at heart, not that they're doing squat about any of it. Now, King Trump wants to own GAZA and Canada and Mexico and, and, and. Welcome to the Great Reset aka New World Order aka (blank) World Order aka the Golden Age aka, aka, aka whatever they decide to call it next week as Commies always do change the names to hide their lies.

    Good Luck, World!

  • He is a showman!

I actually use a Boss MicroBR-4. It's a Basic and very small unit I record in. It's a 4 track and can fit in a shirt pocket.

After I record and mix my tracks, I upload them to my computer in order to post them on Soundclick.

"Just Out Of Reach" was produced by Elvis Nash using SUNO. It's not me singing and playing, and so it sounds the way it does. The other productions are all me.

Well, we'll see. Gotta keep our eyes and ears open. so far, I like what I see. But I, for one, aren't star struck. We have to stay vigilant.

    Take care.

it's a song attempting to capture the fighting spirit that gave us that historic victory we call the presidential election of 2024. Historic in the sense that it's the first time a convicted felon has been elected President.

    Hail to the Thief

  • It's a political song, and invites political comment. Let's all keep focus on the song though.

  • Lets take stock of what he intends or has done.. He wants to take Greenland by force if necessary. he want to take the Panama Canal, by force if necessary. He now is talking about displacing the Palestinians and taking the Gaza Strip.. He tried to freeze federal grants and revoke those already distributed., some of those federal funds goes to cancer research, and places like St. Jude. but screw the children. and had to be reminded by a Federal judge.. he can't do that. He now want's to revoke citizenship, and again, had to be reminded by a judge, he can't do that.. Picked a fight with China, Canada and Mexico. and so far China hasn't backed down and didn't the first time he picked a Tariff war.. And if you think Mexico and Canada backed down, they didn't .. they placated him, until they can decide what their next move is.. If Canada really wanted to, then they can simply cut off the oil supply to the US.. He is now talking about de-funding Department of Education, which all of the schools in the US need to support, especially in the low income areas.. But screw them.. who needs a good education? Elon's salute says all that needs to be said..

    Well said,

Maybe change the title to : Hail to the Thief

  • If you wish to discuss politics, take it to the General Discussion section.

This is a song thread. If you don't wish to help Tom write / improve this song, move along.

  • Yeah let's see what he can do , Brave Idea Tom , You knew you'd get backlash . It does sound a bit like Times are a changing in melody

  • @IronKnee - if you had to explain salve to people, that's funny.. show them my latest song.. it will royally confuse them :)

  • @bhengen nice long list. Sounds the king to me; small k intended. If you know who funded Trump's Selection then you know who's running the white house: the house of harlots.

  • @HummerWisdom - in respect to Owen's wishes, we need to keep to the song itself.. ;)

  • @bhengen just noticed that. Sorry.

  • LOL.... that's right. I voted for the "felon", and I have a feeling there are going to be a whole NEW bunch of felons soon to be going to prison.

Some are easily triggered...... like a rubber Mallot to the knee, hard to help but to give it a kick.

Well, Sid... I say write your own song and entitle it however you see fit. If that's too hard for you to do, have A.I write it for you.

I know it's hard, but let's give it a try.

Thank you all for the rousing comments.

  • @IronKnee - in your song, just out of reach, did AI write those lyrics for you, or did you write them yourself?

  • Those are my lyrics, and the melody is very close...uncanny, even, with what I had written. Elvis used SUNO to create that beautiful rendition. I wouldn't be able to produce such a thing, not without expert and talented help. I haven't a clue as to how to use SUNO.

  • @IronKnee - then why this comment? Well, Sid... I say write your own song and entitle it however you see fit. If that's too hard for you to do, have A.I write it for you., unless that's a joke, why would you imply that Sid doesnt write his own lyrics?

  • Did you read his comment, bhengen?

Mine was a snarky joke aimed at a snarky comment.
