Forsaken

Was listening to Chop Suey by System of a Down and always like the verse-
Father, into your hands I commend my spirit
Father, into your hands
Why have you forsaken me?
In your eyes, forsaken me
In your thoughts, forsaken me
In your heart, forsaken me, oh
it wasn't clear which passage they used, so I based mine very loosely on psalms 22.

[Verse 1]
My God, why this pain?
What hast thy done?
from mournful eyes
A sorrow river runs
Thru trembling fingers,
Down ashen cheeks,
Into tormented pools,
Of reflections past,
Yes, Choices were made,
Yet, I know not why,
Thou hast forsaken me.
[Chorus]
But if it be thy will,
I'll trust in thee
Forever at your mercy
To set my soul free
[Verse 2]
My God, hear my cries
Where hast thy gone
Amongst the sands
Are footprints of one
Pleads to the skies
In deafness falls
Words now barren
Invisible in the void
Thou art not my God
If thou art my God,
Then forsaken me not
[Chorus]
But if it be thy will,
I'll trust in thee
Forever at your mercy
To set my soul free
[Verse 3]
My god, I am resolved
To lay blame where not
My head hangs in shame
My actions set my path
This pain is my cross
To bear, I am beaten
And so very, very tired
Sand of time grow thin
And lights fade dim
Yet the cold grows warm
In your hands I'm taken
[Outro]
Thou hast not forsaken me
And released me of my misery

I'm not religiously inclined at all, so any message is lost on me I'm afraid.
Looking and listening from an objective pov, I loved it it. The complexities woven into the piece are outstanding.
If you have time, I would appreciate any insights into how you managed such a complex duet on Suno.
e.g. what and where your prompts are structured within the verses
Very good indeed.
Thanks,
Sid

@sidshovel - thanks.. I didn't.. it added the dual on it's own.. this is the prompt I used - dark gothic, haunting, anthemic, anguished female vocal -male vocal.. even though I said no male vocals, it went ahead and added them. i'm not religious either and lean more towards agnostic, but my take is essentially about the feeling of being abandoned then resolution

A number of people have reported this kind of ghost duet. Try to prompt for it and it's virtually impossible to achieve. Thought you'd hit the holy grail there for a minute! Sounds good though, take the bow and say nothing.

bhengen Really good lyrics! I like the vocal duo. Love the way the music gradually builds up and comes back down.

@Cove - thanks for the comment. This actually rare that Suno got it right 😂1

@bhengen VERY well done; in your own words and I believe God Almighty would approve of this as you question, doubt and then take full responsibility and place the blame on your own actions and you understand that He is working for you and not against you as your Outro portrays. Just as King David did of whom God loves very much. VERY well done! 👋 And I love the duet as well.
God bless and keep you on this TRUE Sabbath day and always,
Renee

@HummerWisdom - thanks Renee. Just tried to keep true to the verse. But it’s human nature to lay blame elsewhere first1

I do like this one! It has a nice flow and a good, strong message.
And btw thanks for bringing back memories of my time at university. 🙂0 -
@RainbowKeeper - Thanks.. of all the possible interpretations, equating it to a time at university, is not one I would have thought of :).. how bad was your time at university :)
