Walkin' On Air

I'm back with my usual 60s girl group style courtesy of my collaboration with our AI overlords. I really had a hard time getting the harmonies to work out for this one, and it probably still could've been better, but I was pretty happy with how everything else turned out, so I decided to roll with it. Let me know what y'all think!

Lyrics by Tommy L. Day, music and vocals by AI

[verse]

(Walkin' on air) Soaring far above the ground

(Nothing can compare) to this wondrous love I've found

Just one look from you, and I'm up there

And I'm walkin' on air

[verse 2]

(Walkin' on air) Lookin' down on earth below

(The love we share) takes me high as high can go

Just one touch from you, and I'm up there

And I'm walkin' on air

[bridge]

My world looks oh so different ever since you came along

With you walkin' on air beside me, nothing could go wrong

[verse 3]

(Walkin' on air) oh baby, feelin' like the world is mine

(No worries or cares) oh baby, you've got me feelin' fine

Just one kiss from you, and I'm up there

And I'm walkin' on air

[inst.]

[bridge]

[verse 3]

[coda]

And I'm walkin' on air

I'm thinking more 50's than 60's but you're nailing it Tommy. Songs from a simpler time for sure.

I have to ask what coda is though?

    Keep em coming

  • Another beauty! So of the era, really this could be a recording of that time.

    Wonderful.

    Another good one Tommy.

Harmonies are notoriously difficult to get right in Suno, so take credit in what you did do.

Lovely song, this genre is timeless and you're a master at it.

Look forward to the next one.

Really beautiful lyrics here. The AI music was fun too, though pretty different than what I imagined from the lyrics alone.

My only comment would be to try "(Nothing compares)" instead of "(Nothing can compare)" in order to match the syllable count of these other lines in parentheses while keeping "Nothing" on the downbeat:

    (Walkin' on air)

    (The love we share)

Though the last line in parentheses does also contain 5 syllables, I feel like it works better as the "No" would likely come at the end of the prior measure, leaving "worries" on the downbeat:

    (No worries or cares)

Though keeping that in mind I would probably also change "(The love we share)" to "(The love that we share)", keeping "love" on the downbeat.

  • Sweet tune, Tommy. Enjoyed it very much!
