Sweetie Pie

My second attempt at AI. This time, I learned that you can insert instrumental sections, but not yet that you can add [end] to make the song end (I did start doing that on later songs), which is why the solo, third verse, and chorus all repeat. With that said, I saw it as sort of a happy accident, it's realistic for a 60s song to repeat the ending like that.

Words by Tommy L. Day, Music / Vocals by AI

[intro]

(Shoo bop doo sweetie pie)

(Shoo bop doo sweetie pie)

[verse 1]

Every girl in town wants his lovin’

(He’s my sweetie pie)

Cause his arms are warm and made for huggin’

(He’s my sweetie pie)

He’s a bundle of joy, oh golly gee

And he’s only got eyes for me

[Chorus]

(Shoo bop doo sweetie pie) He’s my sweetie pie

(Shoo bop doo sweetie pie) He’s my sweetie pie

[verse 2]

When tears start falling, he’s by my side

(He’s my sweetie pie)

To be a shoulder to cry on, and confide

(He’s my sweetie pie)

All the girls wish they could take my place

Cause my baby’s got such a kissable face

[Chorus]

(Shoo bop doo sweetie pie) He’s my sweetie pie

(Shoo bop doo sweetie pie) He’s my sweetie pie

[solo instrumental section]

[verse 3]

No other love could be as sweet

(He’s my sweetie pie)

No one else could make my life complete

(He’s my sweetie pie)

Someday he’ll ask to marry me

Then he’ll be my sweetie pie for eternity

[Chorus]

(Shoo bop doo sweetie pie) He’s my sweetie pie

(Shoo bop doo sweetie pie) He’s my sweetie pie

That's just brilliant Tommy, absolutely loved it. Takes you right back to sittin' in the diner waitin' for the Fonz to walk in. That's as good as you're gonna find anywhere.

Suno is notoriously bad with the endings, I generally just use a simple app to crop and fade anything I don't want at the end, it's quicker and you've got 100% control.

Thanks Sid, really appreciate that! I got really lucky on this one that it all just fell into place with the vocals, instrumental, and everything.

I’ll probably have to do that myself because a lot of my attempts end up with the song going on for like 4 minutes which is way longer than it should for this genre.
  • Sounds like the 60ties man , AI did a good job

  • Wow! Nailed it, didn't it? Spot on for the era.

Cause, you gave it a good lyric to work with! And presumably a good prompt to go with it.

I know what you mean about the endings, but this is a great one.

    Congratulations!

Thanks @ElvisNash, glad you felt like it captured the era!

And thanks to you, RDM. Yeah, the AI did its thing pretty well this time haha. I haven’t always gotten this lucky, but it’s been a lot of fun regardless. Especially writing lyrics, because I’m writing stuff I wouldn’t have naturally written for myself. I’m excited to share the others I’ve made.
  • Lovely, tune, @BeatlesFan64 . Takes me back, perfectly. Enjoyed it very much. Great hook/title to boot! 😍

This is really cool, Tommy. Lyrics are spot on! Takes me back to the sock hop days and American Graffiti. Sounds like something The Lemon Sisters would do.

Pretty cool song Tommy, I can see this being used in a Quentin Tarantino film, or maybe I'm having flashbacks from Pulp Fiction.

@Cove Thank you! So glad it could capture some of the essence of that time. I would love to hear this with a real girl group like that, but this honestly came out way better than I was expecting!

@Barry Thanks Barry, appreciate the kind words! I wouldn’t be surprised if I heard it in one of his movies honestly.
